Can't Update Game. Any Advice?

So it's been a while since the last time i've been able to update my game, or have had the chance to. Every time I have tried to update my game to the newest version, it gets through the initial updating process, but will not update the patches. It's as if it freezes, and i'm left without answers.
Sometimes, it says that the game is updated, but when I refresh the launcher, it's as if the game never updated in the first place! Because the updates themselves are around 1.6GB, it takes a lot of time, which ends up being wasted.
Any help?
PC Specs:
Windows 8.1 Pro
Processor: AMD A8-4500M APU with Radeon HD Graphics Card
6 GB RAM (5.48 usable)

If you are still unable to patch via the launcher, you can download and apply the latest standalone PC base game Super Patcher available from the following sticky thread:
