Custom Pattern Help PLEASE!

I've grown tired of re-coloring with the same old patterns and have been wanting to get into creating my own.

I looked up this tutorial http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?title=Sims_3:Custom_Patterns#Having_trouble.3F__Have_questions.3F and also downloaded Delphys Pattern Packager.

I have Photoshop elements and i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for DDS plugins?

I am just having a hard time finding one, thanks.
