Disappointed, to say the least To clarify, I know that venue items aren't sold separately for a long time, but I'm disappointed that you chose to bundle these specific items with an expensive venue instead of offering them as a regular set.
But WHY aren't they available separately for a long time? I think (as evidenced from the several replies to this thread and extrapolating further from here) that MANY simmers would purchase the items they are most interested in if they were available separately whereas they as currently shying away from purchasing the $17.00+ building with content they are not interested in that is currently offered. Could a guru please give us an answer regarding the current marketing strategy which is putting off many customers?
Not a Guru but the marketing strategy has been obvious ever since the Olympian Physique was the first venue released:
1. All Venues will have content locked to it, with the exception of Premium Content possibly to be sold individually in the future (whether it be months, or even a year even).
2. The Premium Content from the recent venues will RARELY be sold individually, and most of the time can be purchased in-game, but on rare occasions.
3. Any objects included in any of the World Packs will never be sold individually, even the Premium Content.
Honestly, the Casino and the Greenhouse items were somewhat a fluke, and unannounced in terms of some of the objects, but other than that, I don't expect the Marketing Team to change anything unless they unlock all of the other past venues before this venue...
Ditto. I'm not interested in the venues at $20-ish a piece.
The only things I've bought at full price in the store is Dragon Valley and the renfaire venue...I am pretty sure everything else was a substantial sale.
It's a particular problem with this venue as it has such a mixture of stuff. Like a lot of others, I only really want the build items and would be quite happy to pay for them. Likewise, there are a lot of folks who could care less about the build items, but do want the rest of it (or parts of it, anyway).
I am really torn on this one. I don't bother with clothing sets (there's never anything for elders in them) and buy most of my other bits as individual items unless a sale comes up, but now I'm feeling pressured to buy things I don't want or need to get bits I do want. Certainly don't need, but would really like to have.
