How do I get a genie lamp? Aside from lifetime wish points... Can you find a lamp in town like gems or..?

What's the risk of sending a sim off on simport? I heard you could get viruses and stuff from either sending a sim off or getting someone elses sim to come to your game.. I'm wanting to send my sim off but I'd like to know any and all risks first.
