Is Hidden Springs worth it?

I've always contemplated getting Hidden Springs ever since it came out. However, since then, I've gotten Monta Vista, Aurora Skies, and Sunlit Shoes. Aurora Skies is my favorite out of those, despite the snow "glitch". I guess I found a liking for the nature feel. On that note, I'm just curious on to what people think of Hidden Springs? I guess the knock I've always had on it is that I feel like the rabbit holes look random. For example, the stadium on the shore looks out of place. I'd likely replace some to "fit" better from Aurora Skies. Thoughts?

First I must say with Hidden Springs, it is a beautiful world, and it is also beautiful in the winter. I have not seen the Snow Glitch in that world. It does have several rainbows, when the rainbows are out. But I think they did that on purpose, the story line behind that world is a fairy tale.

Anything you want to change is simple enough, I always change a few things in Edit Town. If you do get it, I would suggest that you add a gate to the fence behind the diner. There is an odd routing issue, and this is what happens. For the sims who go out the back door will walk all the way around the diner, walk around the fence in the front, and then walk all the way back to the back of the diner on the other side of the fence. By adding a gate, it stops all of that nonsense.

I don't like the concrete town square, and most of the time I just change it out for a park that I swipe from Sunset Valley. You don't have to do that, I do because it fits perfectly.

With Seasons, I use one of the Festival lots from one of the other towns that's the same size lot, because I prefer to have my festival lot in town rather than way out of town at the Beryl Lane Picnic Spot. I also do other remodeling to the town; I demolished both the hospital and the science facility, and put in the combined rabbit hole from Moonlight Falls that's in Community Objects in Build Mode. I add foliage and put in a pond with Robot Fish spawners, also Koi spawners from WA, because I never knew where to find Robot Fish in Hidden Springs. Finallly, I took out the Town Hall and replaced it with the combined rabbit hole from Bridgeport, which frees up the large military base lot (I'm reserving that for building a mountain-themed resort if that's possible) and the police station (I have a small casino there). I've also changed out a few of the other lots, like substituting the salon from Appaloosa Plains for the standard one, and upgrading a few of the hangouts.

What I like the best is it's really beautiful with Seasons, both with the leaves turning and with the snow. And I'm a Liam O'Dourke fan so it's fun to try and get my Sims together with him. 8)

Apologies for butting in, but do the leaves actually change colors in Hidden Springs? I was almost going to buy it, but like 95% of the trees are firs, and I didn't think those changed color since firs are evergreens?

Can't blame you for that. I remember looking at the pictures for it and thinking "WHY is the stadium blocking the view of the lake?!". It's placed really, really poorly, but the stadium rabbithole looks pretty out of place in a mountain wilderness like that anyway. I bet people who have Hidden Springs AND get Dragon Valley will be happy--those tents would work very well here.

As is, I find it super boring.

I recently revamped it with Monte Vista rabbit holes, added some castles and am now playing it as a medieval / fantasy world and it's way better.

It depends what kind of games you like to play. I have Hidden Springs, find it awsome! It's got a kind of celeb resort bit, with huge houses, the royal family (Vanderburgs) and flashy modern style buildings on one side, but then on the other side of the world, there is a forest area, with pine trees, and lots of little cabins hidden among the trees. Some people living in this area have slightley green skin, which makes them kind of magical, although they are just human sims.
So you can play with celebs and forest outdoorsey types both in this world, which for me, is great! The only criticism I'd have is that all the rabbit holes, such as the bookstore and theatre, are all just the same as Sunset Valley: they're not unique to the world. But the communty lots and houses are great builds :)

I love Hidden Springs. It is very beautiful. I've edited it heavily so I can have all the lots I want. I used the ST city hall so I could get rid of the military rabbit hole. I put a nectary in that spot. I placed the HAB from AS on the lookout lot at the top of the mountain. Even though it doesn't go up very high, it certainly is a beautiful view. Especially when there is a rainbow. It is one of my favorite worlds.

I'm not sure. I like it a lot, and _love_ the structure of the "shore" by the lake, that it's got uneven edges and that the neighborhood is not "flat". Though it is a bit "boring" and very green, but I'm not regretting that I got it. I like the well/fountain of youth item a lot. Hmmm. I don't know for sure. Can't say. It depends on you and your wallet I suppose.. :)

Hello vermesmike :) I love Hidden Springs. It is a very beautiful and lush world :)The premium content item, the Fountain of Youth is fabulous. I do not use cheats so I find the fountain great to keep my sims young while the townies age and pass on :)
