    Game Slowly Becoming Unplayable

    I've been noticing issues with my game that are building, especially with a household I play a lot. Eventually that household becomes unplayable- when I click on that house- the neighborhood screen locks up and I have no menu options. No houses on the neighborhood are clickable, and I'm not able to get into that house and play. I've tried moving out that family, moving out that house, etc. Nothing works. Slowly I am losing my households.

    Another major issue I am having is since installing University- I see Sims from my neighborhood frozen. It's like they're unable to move. I can't click on them or interact with them. I've tried resetSim and it does nothing. I think they will eventually die or be un-interactable.

    Please help. I have no mods or hacks, and all content is from the sims store. I really don't know where to begin solving especially the first issue. I've already lost 3-4 families in 1 neighborhood and then started to notice this is happening in other neighborhoods with families I play a lot.

      Your system specifications match the game's systems requirements overall from what I can tell. I don't think there's anything there that is causing your issue.

      Frankly, your issue is very baffling. I am going to have to think about it. Perhaps Ceejay will have some ideas about it. I hope she sees this soon.

      You can update your video card drivers they appear to outdated.

      hey goddessru

      as Goldmoldar suggests updating drivers is smart and can/should help. check asus first for update..

      since overall your specs seem fine your glitches may just be corrupted game data

      and if that doesnt work drag sims 3 doc folder to desktop and laucnh a new game. this should remove corruption and then add back saved material to new files.

      also since u are having issues with saved games u may want to save family to bin and move to new world..old games can get corrupted..there are few mods that can clean them up. but after a while all families need to be moved to new worlds and homes to fully remove corruption..

      oh and too add your laptop needs to be clean of dust and kept cool when gaming..dirt/heat effect fans and grahic card...consider cleaning and investing in a cooling pad

      Thanks for the quick replies. I cleared the caches and that seemed to clear up the frozen people issue.

      I really doubt it's a video card driver issue, as I've been having this problem since when it was up-to-date. However I'll give it a shot.

      I also tried ceejay's second suggestion of launching a new game and adding back the saved files- folder by folder. This did not fix the issue. The problem is, I can't even move those families to the bin and move them to new homes or new worlds. Whenever I click on those "unplayable" homes, all my in game controls disappear. None of the neighborhood menu panels are available- I'm essentially stuck in the neighborhood view and have to bring up task manager to shut down the game. Adding back in these files one by one, I was wondering if you guys are aware of any of the saved files that do not need to be added back? I'm wondering if any of the saved caches or .package files is causing this issue. If you guys know a list of the files I can keep from the clean install vs. just the ones for my saved games - maybe I can give that a shot.

      Essentially I feel like maybe the issue is with the neighborhoods save files and saved games. The problem is it keeps happening (just happened today with Appaloosa Plains for the first time) and I keep losing families and households that I cannot ever play.

      I would definitely suggest using NRAAS' mods, especially overwatch and even master controller. They are more like utilities in game than cheats.

      This could also be due to a bad patch, it happens sometimes and you might want to attempt to reinstall the actual game if this all fails to solve your problems.

      I just wanted to update this thread in case anyone else was having this issue as well as to close out the thread.

      I downloaded NRAAS MasterController and it has helped to clear up a lot of the corruption in the game and has made the game playable again for me. One town was completely lost as it had gotten too corrupted but for the other ones where 2-3 houses were affected, I was able to fix them. One house spawned 352 babies, which is why I couldn't enter the house and MC helped me delete them and make that house playable again. I was also able to find lost sims, and reset sims whose face disappeared and I just received green squares. Other homes that became unplayable were also resolved with MC as it let me enter them and hone down on the issue and reset them as necessary.

      NRAAS Overwatch has also keep clear the frozen sims that seem to build up from time to time.

      With MC and Overwatch, my game has been mostly corruption free and any issues that come up I'm able to resolve with MasterController.
