Hi Anette, I am an Australian that's why I am in phone contact with Kaztomp so I am the same time zone as her. Kaz is thrilled I am taking on her work, so this one will be a bit of a collaboration from both of us. She is so kind and shouted me the New Circus Set today. I do have the Bohemian Garden too. I am not as Computer savvy as the amazing Kaztomp but I get by OK and this will be my first Festival Lot so bear with me. I think it will be a fun challenge for me actually.

I really like all the ideas so far. The basic storyline is great, now I have Kaz's incomplete build I will go in and get things happening again in it.

One question we are both a bit stumped about the hidden Wardrobe idea??? Have you any further information on this??

    oh thats sweet of her

the wardrop... aperently a skilled wish can upgrade the wardrops from super naturals to be magicl (like in narnia) just thougth it might be fun if there was 1 tucked away in a corner in the barn... like it had been forgotten at some point.

    look at this

    Dearest, sweetest Vicki,

In a million years, I will never be able to thank you enough for helping me out like this! I was very excited about this build and would have loved nothing more than to complete it - but Trent and his "daredevil" stunt put an end to that wish.

I would have been happy for any of my DNA team mates to take this build over, but to have my best friend, here in Oz and my all-time fave builder take it over - well that just makes me twice as happy!!

I know it's your first festival lot - but I also know how quick a learner you are - you will rock this build and it will be an awesome creation!

As I said earlier today - I am just a phone call away if you need help with the seasonal lot marker - or any other aspect of the build. I love when we collaborate on builds - remember Eloura and Daintree? Or who could forget that enormous modern build we did for the magazine? OMG!! That thing was E-NOR-MOUS!! ... and one of my very first attempts at anything modern - lol! I remember them all - and I loved them all!

You will nail this and it will be amazing!

    xx *hugs* xx

    Hi Anettesb :)

I just wanted to leave a comment here for you, and tell you again how terribly sorry I am that I had to step away from this build, but also thank you for being so generous in your understanding and compassion.

I was inspired by your back story with this Festival Lot and was really getting a feel for the old world charm of the place.. then my foster son, Trent, had to go and jump a bike off my house roof and break half a dozen bones in the process! Needless to say, he wasn't (and still isn't) in my good books - lol!

I also wanted to let you know how wonderful Vicki (Glenkarri) is! You only have to look through her Studio to know she is an amazingly creative builder! But not only is she a fantastic builder and a wonderful team mate - she is also a truly awesome friend in real life!

In the three years I have known Vicki, I have learnt that she is generous, kind, funny, intuitive, sensitive (especially when it comes to her animal friends) and a great listener! Today, she spent the better part of a one hour phone call listening to me feeling sorry for myself - and yet, she has this amazing ability to make me laugh at myself. She is an awesome person - and I know she will create an amazing build for you.

I will pop in when I can to say hi and now, just like you, I eagerly await Vicki's next update :)

Take care Anettesb - and again, my many thanks for being so understanding.

    xx *hugs* xx

    Hugs Kaz

of course I understand... life is just not predictibal... especially not if you have kids or if you sick....

and wow he jumped of the roof on a bike!?! not the smartes moved.... I'm glad he is doing better (and hopefully he learnt to be a tiny bit more careful)

yes I'm sure this be amazing.... 2 amazing builders working on my crazy idea... that can only be good
The markers even I can figure out (but not what is seasonel items and not) though I still have a hard time with it and need the guru guid in the forum open... I can if I need to do simple lot marking (but this isn't simple to me) I'm sure Glenkarri (Even at her first) will do much better than I ever could.

and don't worry I have a few requests up my slew, so you can allways claim 1 later ;) 1 is even related to this buildings story.... you know the lot next to it

I just have to decide wich 1 out of 3 ideas I want the most first....

    take care

    hugs to your both

    thought

even though most sims respect this old barn... mayb there is a few grafitis there (it's been around for a long time)

+ there could be some art on the inside that was intended....

    streetartgroundmural.jpg
I really love the last one... and my sims hardly ever make it...
it is the wall version of the right one I love... just to be clear as there is both a wall and a floor version.

finishing tutches like that ... that will make the lot lived and still give room for smooth playing... will be very loved

 Wow Anette, You have an amazing grasp on The Game......good on you. I have learned a few things just by doing this build. It is moving along well. I have the Common area well set up. It includes most everything you asked for and is a nice Park to visit. The Barn has an empty party room and upstairs area for rent....these come into play in Spring so far for a Wedding, the Wedding Arch and seating are inside in these rooms (as it is cool in Spring) .. lol, and the outdoor grounds are stuffed full of other fun things to do. I will place a couple of WIP's photos for you. You will see them on Page 1 of this Thread under Works In Progress.

I made a good start tonight for winter... got the Snowboard ramp and the small ice rink in the grounds. Do you want anything in those spare rooms in the barn, during winter ???

Summer and Fall are my next projects.......let me know if you have anything else in mind for these.

In Spring I have the Pigeons on the grounds for you ... and I have found out (sort of) how to do that Magical Wardrobe.......... will give it a go

As to those lovely paintings you just put up, I am not that savvy on how to do those, are they a MUST??. My Computer is not as big and fast as Kaztomp's, the Lot already takes a good while to load up. I do not want to make this too big, it spoils ease of play and computer loading etc. Hope all is well with you. Vicki

the paintings is not a must (the street art) I just might send my sim to practis her street art... it was simply a wish

yea please don't lette to room be completly empty in the winter... maybe a christmas tree the misteltoe and a dance floor.... (don't know what you have of rooms) but you can use stuff from any EP and the store..... might not be as much in winter... but no season schould have an empty room....

did that made sense... yet I don't want it on the hevieste site of lots....

the wardrope thingy I just learnt a few months ago.... still havn't been able to do it my self

nice trying to figure out what the stirps on the ground near the hotdog eating area is?

    yes I love pictures

have you put in springrides as seasonal? or commen?

I hope the carosel will be there not only in the spring (though that be ok... that be special... and thats nice.... but haveing it there in summer would also be nice

I'm very exsited to explore this lot with my family... see how it is in difrent seasons

love that you made a spring wedding area inside ... yes spring can be cold and rainy.... then my sims get to choose festival or cherc or home lot (or any other quick choice) that be nice.

feel free to at any season use some of the small games (wake a gnome, board games like ches and the ST one inside in the winter, akade games ectra) where ever they fit

that might be an idea if there is no chess on the ground the empty room in the winter becomes a game room with a few random games....

is there the basic firepit where you can roast marchmallows? (I know I asked for a not basgame version, and that it isn't seasonal) might be I just can't see it.

This is spring rides that I have on a public lot already.... you could still use them... but maybe (if they fit) use some not yet used in town

Atomic Age Spring Ride and Zephman Spring Ride from the acade venue
The ship, rocket and horse from Generation
The 2 car rides from into the future
    The seahorse from townlife
    The dragon from Dragon vally
The black cat from the store
The frog from the circus set

    and

These I don’t yet have in town:
    The bee from season
The hare and horse from the circus set
The Hyper Hippocamp from the toystore in MH gold
Gallopin’ Gertie Spring Rider from the bardwalk

The cowplan from the store (don’t particular care for this one so please ignor this one)

note: depending on what you have and if you make the springs seasonel.... well my all time favorit spring ride is the circus set horse.....

 Great, you are obviously happy with everything so far. I will decorate the two spare rooms in the barn for every season. In Spring there is the Wedding area downstairs and the upstairs is a reception room of sorts, with dance floor, seating, music and a juice bar. Downstairs, in another room (which is common) there is plenty of room for kids and babies, another bar, the woodfire oven, I felt it a bit too cold for that to go outside and the buffet table. Also the foyer will look after the family cat, the large kennel is in the horse barn for the dog.

LOL the colourful striped object on the ground is the hopscotch, coloured pale apricot and purple stripes to match with the slippery slide nearby. The slippery slide is common, so it might not be showing.

I have a few spring riders in too, a couple of the carousel horse, the frog, a car thingy. They are common. The common park is quite nice and provides a good all round venue to just go there and enjoy.

I will indeed have the Carousel in Summer and probably fall as well.

So I will not do anymore landscaping now there is a fair bit and it is one of the things that causes lag, there is enough to be attractive all year round.

I am looking forward to putting my Tester Sim in for a check out of everything. She is at present living on the 60 x 60 that overlooks the Mountain Lake. I found my latest home Rock Ridge adapted very easily to this Lot as it is on 50 x 50 and does not have a definitely defined rear and front, so the front with the viewing windows overlooks the lake and the rear faces the road. With a little smoothing out of terrain and rebuilding the garage to face the road, she is very comfy there as the home was built for the cold climate in Aurora Skies. Very soon she'll be at work testing your Grounds......

PS Kaz has already placed firepits. I also put in a Seesaw as common and the horse shoe court. The golf thing can be summer and fall. I will put a bonfire in Fall and Summer. Take care :D

slipyslide... like water toy... is there all year...?!?

could we maybe not have that (I ahve one it the atletic center... and really don't want the sims in bathing suits frezzing during fall, winther and spring)

the landscaping is great... I don't need much for it to look nice.... and it working well for playing is the important part

we don't need golf ... it is at the atletic center...

the springride horse there is that the one with a danish flag on the site.... ?
I like you mixing things up... and love the pictures...

brilliant that the horse shoe is all year

I didn't know (or remembered) if Kaz had put in the fire pits

Yea for bonfire... we just had the biggest bonfire day in Denmark... thats the 23 St John's Eve

I like that there is some nice things in comon... makes it ok to go there on non festival days

I might need to kidnap your lates build then... or I can tell you when I open hunt 4 (as soon as game lets me take 2 last pictures and back up, so tomorow... would have been today if not for 3 chrashes) and you can enter it.....

did I say you and Kaz are brilliant

 All going well. I put the slippery dip in as Spring and summer, not common, it has a specific spot in Kaz's original building so it needed to be there at sometime.

I finished Winter. I made the empty downstairs room into a games room with billiard table and Kaz created a corner where the Wardrobe is going to be in every season.
Upstairs a dance floor and a few more games and a relaxing warm room for winter socialising.

I finished Summer too. This time there is an outdoor wedding arch and somewhere for guest to watch the ceremony. The empty downstairs room is now turned over to a bride/groom's makeover room, with the sauana, massage table, tanning booth and a hot tub to prepare for their wedding, upstairs another dance floor where wedding dancing can occur, but I thought the guests would enjoy being outside for the eating side of a wedding in Summer (Yes, I am an Aussie lol)

So it is Fall time and I read your list..will do, but I could do with your ideas for the two empty rooms in the barn..... I have bonfire's for Fall and that bit of spooky stuff about for the Halloween feel. These are all outdoor things though....... By the Pumpkin Patch, do you mean the buydebug plant or is it something else in Game, I am not aware of????

I created a Witch with skills to have a go at enchanting the Wardrobe, once I complete the actual build and have it tested and play checked I will play my Witch and hopefully be able to enchant the Wardrobe.

Sims Vip has an excellent guide to enchanting a Wardrobe.

So wish me luck there, at any rate I can leave the wardrobe in the build, it is handy to have somewhere to change clothes.

I won't put any more photos up, you have to wait on the surprise now  Of course with your superior knowledge of this Game, anything that you don't like, any colours that are wrong and anything I have left out that you would want, can be very easily altered

All going well you should have this build this week sometime.

Thanks for your link to your Hidden Springs, once I finish your work I will definitely go have a look at what you are creating. It has been lovely to work with you Anette. Both Kaz and myself have enjoyed this build. You take care and all well wishes with your health, I too know what anxiety/depression is like, not pleasant and hard to live with, but now at 62 years of age, I seem to have settled down a lot, so there is light at the end of that tunnel, on our life journey. 8)

    it sound great

Could we maybe drop the water toys?

    from request
No pool or waterslide (or other wather toys exsept the waterfight thingy)

and the souna... seems a bit to much... (they hard to move in and out

pumpking patch is the plants yes
and spooky stuff inside like other akade games and the change outfit mirror and the magic beans... thoughts
if you don't have the bull ride at ay other season that could be inside?

    the wardrob plan sounds great

    this:
Anything from store or other EP that fits here?
still goes for the whole build

    beside my no thank yous
Please no parking (let the sims put the cars in the pocket) but maybe a few bike racks?
Please no hidden lights (unless 2 storage room and absolut needed) and only very few spawners
    No television
no subway... but the Llama is ok
No pool or waterslide (or other wather toys exsept the waterfight thingy)
No coffee maker (they need to buy that at the stands)
No refrigerators (buy the food or make it at the grill)
Don’t use the moondial or the tree of prosperity or the broomriding arena or any rabithole.

sorry there been confusion in translating I think....

is trilled to see the finished lot

 Hi Anette, I have completed the build. However, it now needs play testing and upgrading, so I spoke to Kaztomp last night and seeing she has Mods that upgrade easily I have sent the work back to her to complete and check out thoroughly. So it will still be ready shortly and it is nice to still share the build with Kaz in this way. Not long now ..... take care Vicki

I'm a little worried that the lot is turning in to to much of a waterpark with souna, hottub and slide.
and to formal a wedding venue for a farm bassed festival.
+ have to much spa with the getting ready room, massage and sauna.

I do have styling in town and don't want al that on a festival lot.

I do hope you saw that post befor sending it to Kaz

I don't want to be demanding.

but I know I would want to edit out any hottub and water toys beside the waterfightarana. aswell as stylingstations, massage tabel and saunas.
+ even simple down a wedding part of it.

yes I wanted a party area but mostly for kids birthsday, and maybe quick unformel weddings in teh spring/summer..... not that to take focus of the lot.
to me a weeding set up on this lot needs to be nothing more than the standard party room (that have the cake table to use for birthday or weding cake) + an arch some where.

I'm much more interested in bullrides, hoopscots, academachines even careoke in the barn, magical left wardrops ecetra

with no new pictures to go of I don't know how much it is.... but I worry after your 2 last posts that it have gone in a whole other direction that what I want to use it for.
and that would be hard for me to quick edit as you say. becouse I'm not that good at the building, I understand the game... but doing it isn't my talent.

    I hope you respond.

    thanks

I know that makes the inside a challeng in the summer but it can still be a place to go site out of the sun... or something... I don't know...

just didn't wanted it to be like the salon down the road

    rusic fair/festival is more it

I have enjoyed playing my own version heaps, it is fun to just go and spend the whole day playing at the Grounds..........but WOE is me, I had to move to Sunset Valley, poor little Hidden Springs rained ALL the time and my Sims were getting all prune like......... PS I created a Witch and after 3 night playing her she enchanted the Wardrobe, ......... Kaz can do all this with Mods, which is why she is finishing off. Take Care
