Why are you just standing there?

Is it just my game? I mean, I know my computer isn't the best by any stretch, but when I'm playing my game, my Sims take forever to do anything. My Sim makes lunch, picks it up, walks over to the table, stands beside the table. Puts the bowl down. Sits down. Picks up the bowl again to eat it. .... and an hour has gone by? What? Why?

Am I crazy? Are my Sims? Why are you taking half an hour to find your way up the stairs, Sims?
