Duplicate photos in the photo booth

Does anybody know of a way to prevent the photo booth from producing duplicate images? It's pretty annoying when I take a picture and 2 or 3 of the images are the same. I'll usually have to make my sims take pictures in it 5 or more times to get 4 unique images in the print out and that gets annoying pretty fast.
Follow up question: Any idea what determines which sims is on which side in the picture? For example, in these pictures
for the images on the bottom left of the photos, I like it better when the girl is on the right (I guess I like how it shows her nails). But when I tried retaking the photos she always stayed on the left. I would try having her husband initiate the photos, or having her initiate them, but it didn't make a difference.
