I can't get my imaginary friend back!

I tried to reset the Imaginary friend. I tried to reset the lot and I tried moving the kid out and back with a new sim,evicting the family and moving them to another lot. Lastly I saved a copy of the family and moved them into a new house in a new game.... Nothing works. Anyone found another option?
