Here's a trick for the game.

In the castle kits to get the building pieces together use the cheat move objects or Moo on and hit the arrow keys to rotate the pieces until their positioned right for placement then place them where you want and they will blend in with the wall making it look like there's a wall and when your done you have a castle or round room with windows included.Make sure the move objects cheat's on or it won't work.I can't remember where this cheat came from, but it works.

What a great idea! Thanks for hosting!!!

Okay, so my trick/cheat is used with MOO.

You enter in the MOO cheat, you may also need to use disableSnappingToSlotsOnAlt on cheat. What I like to use this for is to create entertainment centers and islands for kitchens.

    Here are two examples.

In this one with MOO I used shelves and columns to create and entire entrainment center/wall:

    Screenshot-325.jpg

In this one I used both cheats to create an island with a stove in it, then put a countertop at an angle for the kitchen sink. I used a display pedestal to fill in the gaps between the countertop and wall.

when using 'testingcheatenabled true' you can delete anything by clicking ctrl and shift then clicking on a object, sim and even moodlets so you can get rid of any bad moods eg. the death of a sim so you dont get those annoying emotions for 2 sim days.

grapestar, I'm sorry, but this tip is too close to a repeat of tips here and here. I hope you'll be able to come up with something else that we haven't seen yet.

    Nice idea for a thread!

For a counter top wine rack as shown here

    screenshot_original.jpg

Use move objects on to place a rack inside the counter, another rack can then be placed on top and the nectar is accessible by sims.

Hi there! I don't usually use tricks, but here is one tip I use: For taking a good picture I like to put up the walls in the background to make it look like an actually wall that you would see in a picture. If you can't put the entire wall up do the second best thing and put half a room's wall up so you can still get a good background.

Please add myself: http://store.thesims3.com/myWishlist.html?persona=TheKrazy_KimSim to your list. Thank you!

    My tip:

-Lets say you have a wallpaper colour on the walls that you want to put on the cushion of a chair. Go into Create a Style, and click on the texture. You should up to four squares. Click on the square that has the colour you want. Above the colour wheel you will se up to four circles + one big circle. Grab the circle that has the colour you want and drag it onto the cushion. This allows you to keep the colour without changing the design on the cushioN! Sorry if every1 knows this

    EDIT: Add me too!!!

Here is my trick for the new week:

If you want to place a fireplace in the house but dont want that pesky chimney going thru the middle of the house just put MOO and you can separate the chimney from the fireplace and delete it!

I found this out by accident once :D

Sorry I wasn't able to officially close week 1 at 11pm last night - had a family issue come up. I'm about to do the drawing now.

Wildeatheart, I can't accept your entry for week 2 as it is too close to this tip already submitted. I hope you'll be able to come up with another one! Please take a look at the index on page 1 to see what people have already entered.

Here is my week two tip. It's another MOO tip. Have you ever wanted a large, circle dining table? Without using CC? Well all you need to do is take four of the small dining tables (6 seaters with 2 chairs on each side, 1 chair each end), put the tables side by side. Then take your chair and put a chair on each end, but none on the sides. Once that's done, enter in MOO. Then you just put the tables together until you get this:

    Screenshot-837.jpg

The best part is, is that it is useable in the game. You can't place the chairs after the tables are put together, so you must place them before hand. Once it's all done though, the sims will sit and eat at the table. Makes a nice change from the normal dining area. :D

Oh Sorry! Must have skipped that one  Here is a different tip:

-When you have a fenced in garden, to stop zombies eating your plants, put a music player in there. They may eat 1, but then they queue the action to dance. Turn it on whenever you see a zombie, and you will lose the plant already queued to attack, but then it will start dancing. Be careful though, it can lead to build up of zombies, so its good to have a peashooter as well. I like to set it to classical and pretend that I'm playing it to the plants to help them grow.

    Congrats to last weeks winners!

There are some good tips here, one or two I'd never have thought of, like using the WA treasure chest, and a few I'd forgotten, thank you!

Heres a useful tip for making community lots that you wish something specific to be on that you cannot usually achieve building community. I'll give it a specific example but it applies to a few other things too.

If you want say specific books to appear in a library, say you want the WA location skill books on the shelf in your library in town, change lot type to residential (be careful some items like registers are community only and changing the lot type will remove them, you can replace them after this process, just be aware) move in a family/sim who have the items you want to add in their inventory. You now have control over things like the contents of a bookshelf, organise it how you want, put in any books you want to add, move out the family when youre happy and delete them. (the game recognises ownership of some items if you don't delete the sim/family you used and what you added in will be given back to that sim when you're back in play mode). Change the lot type back to community and when you visit you see the shelves how you wanted them.

As a slight note for moving lots, when you place a lot somewhere it automatically puts some books onto shelves like the lvl 1 cooking and mechanical. The changes you made to bookcases in the above example remain, but if you pick up the lot and move it it will add those books and maybe a couple of other random when you set it back down. You can always tidy up again with the above procedure.

This is a tip I learnt from LoveEvil when she built this fabulous library for the commmunity including adding commuty member created books http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/471363.page , it is also btw a beaufiful library and is currently in my town :)

    Woo! 2nd week! Here's a tip:

When your sim ages up to an elder (on normal lifespan) the chance of passing on is 14% per day, unless the elder is a marathon runner. Marathon runner multiplies the chance by 0.75 which leaves the percentage at 10.5%. Vegetarians tend to live longer by opting for vegetarian meals.

Short lifespan is 30%/22.5%, medium lifespan is 20%/15%, long is 6%/4.5%, and epic is 3%/2.25%.
