Okay, so I'm downloading the new Lucky Palms world and I'm wondering: which version should I get? The standard or the gold? Is the set that's in the gold really worth the extra simpoints? I just feel like $37.00 is a lot for a ONE set and a new town.

Also, your Sim will learn the gambling skill and every time I've had my Sims play slots they made. It's like the Vegas version of playing the guitar for tips at the subway station in Bridgeport.

I bought the usual version. The casino didn't appeal to me whatsoever.
I say like stilljustme2, wait until there's some deal on the casino and buy it then. You will have so much fun in Lucky Palms you won't even notice the lack of a casion.

Buying the gold version of Lucky Palms is cheaper if you want the casino as well, since it's 3700 simpoints for the bundle and 4000 if you buy them separate.
That being said, I have the gold version myself. It's not too bad, except for a minor glitch that comes with the blackjack table (it doesn't particularly bother me though). However the casino isn't a 'must have', so if you aren't really keen on it, I suggest getting just the standard version.
But Lucky Palms is absolutely amazing. It's particularly beautiful and detailed, and so unlike any other of the sims worlds. I've been playing there for days now. The architecture is brilliant, and is actually inspiring me to start building - I never really have. The wishing well is just so much fun, and I haven't even wished for a child yet ( I really want the evil child lol). And the houses on the pier are just spectacular. I don't know about anybody else, but I find the sounds of the seagulls, the water and the buoys very therapeutic.
