window mode to full screen

Every time I try and change my game to play in full screen from windowed mode it totally screws up.

I have to un install every expansion pack and stuff pack and reinstall them all.

Does anyone have any idea what causes this? all I get is a black screen and it doesn't load up, I don't even get the sims logo coming up on screen.

I take it no one else has come up against this problem?

I have un installed the game, twice, and re installed it, twice, and it now works fine and I am leaving it on windowed mode permanently.

I thought I'd just bump this in case anyone else has this problem.
