Pet Competitions?

Hello I'm Nicole. When ever I try to enter my dog into the pet competition at the school gym my sim and my dog get there but only my sim goes in, my dog stays outside and eventually it says I've left before the competition has ended. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you for your help!

That has always happened to me before-the sim goes into the building and the pet stays out. Usually the pet will stay near the building but other times it leaves-I've never had it say they have left the competition unless it was the sim leaving or I canceled the sims interaction with the competition.

Next time this happens let the pet do whatever it wants and make sure the sim stays there-Even though the pet is not in the building it is still part of the competition or still counts as being in the competition as long as the sim remains in the building.
