Critter Spawners?

So ive been working on my own town for the good part of 6 months (Ive put a lot of detail in to) from a blank map I downloaded off the exchange (since I cant use CaW cause im on a mac) and as I continue to ply test it im noticing something unnerving..... no wild animals (except horses and stray dogs/cats).... ive looked for 10 sim days on 2 different families.... is there a cheat that would allow me to place spawners (if they so exist) for the "critters"?
Anyone else playing on a map that isnt EA built/made? Thoughts? :?:
