Sims3 Riverview

I purchased townlife, installed Origin, game ran, although stuttered occasionally, and after an hour crashed. This happened everytime I played. I received an update to Origin, after installing game would not load or play.
I then removed Sims3 from the computer and all add ons, including Origin. Reinstalled game, including Riverview and all my purchases. This time Townlife did not give me the option of Origin. Now TownLife will not play, I get the Sims3 Game launcher but get windows message saying programme not running. I deleted Townlife. On Playing Ambitions I now find I don´t have Riverview. Checked my installations and it says Riverview is there but it doesn´t show on the town menu.
I am becoming very disallusioned with Sims 3, have played it from the beginning with no problems until I bought Townlife which has been a waste of money as it is unplayable. Please can someone tell me what the problem is. I am not a computer geke, so it must be simple.
