Exchange Lots

Since the last patch, I cannot get lots I've downloaded from the exchange to work properly.
One of two things will happen. Either the lot will never load - it just says processing forever until I have to force quit - or it will load but when I try to use it (build / buy mode or move sims into it), it doesn't work. None of the furniture shows up, the walls stay up and if I zoom in or rotate, the house disappears (similar to how you can see through bushes and trees in live mode) and I just see the outline of the foundations.
I don't download any lots that say they have custom content, and I don't have any mods. This has happened with new lots I've downloaded as well lots I've downloaded and used before. This never happened before the last patch.
