Will my sims's romantic interest ask her to go steady without my sim doing it?

I would prefer her romantic interest to propose going steady because I'm always the one doing it, but is it possible? Is there a chance if they go out enough he'll propose it? Can he eventually propose marriage without my involvement?

I don't think so. The only time any thing like that happens is if you switch house with story progress on.

It a shame , it would be so romantic, if it where to hapen natural.
