Yup, takes level 4 (I think) Handiness.

It is made of Win and Awesome.

maybe around handiness level 4 you get the option. prior to that, you can tinker with the sprinkler and if you are lucky, it'll upgrade. sprinklers are in the tab with the football i think in buy mode in the outdoors tab.

I spent AGES trying to find sprinkler. I finally found it under kitchen category of all things as a Small Applicance thingie. How is that kitchen related EA?

Autowater is an upgrade you can add with Handiness skill.

Why even bother to upgrade them?
They don't slow anything down with constant use.

Don't think they can break either.

For you guys who want more info on gardening go to http://sims.wikia.com/wiki/Gardening_(The_Sims_3)

Not much info but there is some good stuff there. Didn't think about leaving the sprinklers on 24/7 thanks.

I gave my simmy's sprinklers for gardening, but all they did was obsese about playing in them all the time. And I do mean 24/7 they kept running threw them like they had nothing better to do. I'd direct them to do other things, and right back to the sprinklers they would go. I finally removed the sprinklers and all garden items from their lot.

This has to be one of EA's big jokes on all of us sim players.
