maid and butler - not functioning correctly

After finally twikking sims 3 and expansion to accept ambitions....
I find several problems I'll just discuss two now. Now I know that these same trivial with the expansion problem, but they need to be addressed anyway.
1)The maid can't enter the appartment, nor do they call me or ring me that they are there.
2) Butler is not considered part of the household so I cant communicate with him unless I track him down.
solution: I think you should hav the same as you did with the robots in sims#1 Where the appear in family list but only could be communicated with for orders.
