Stairs Problem - PLEASE HELP/READ!

I've been experiencing some problems with the stairs.

Firstly, everytime I click on the staircase, it won't let me move it!
And secondly, it doesn't let me recolour!

PLEASE HELP! SOME ADVICE OR TIP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. :!:

Stairs can be a bit of a pain once you've already set them down in your house.

Here's a method for that.

Delete your old stairs.
Fill in the floor where they were at.
Make certain there are no objects near the area you want to place the new ones - don't forget lights.
That should let you lay down the new ones.

In new homes, make sure you take the auto-roof off before you place your stairs.

Stairs are sadly and for some reason, not customizable. I'm guessing someone will either mod that or they will fix this at a later date.
