This is my entry for Fidlars Middle Eastern challenge, and no I didn't it overnight, it has been under construction for some weeks and I decided it might be a good entry for this challenge!

It a Hamam, a dry or steamy bath house, very popular in the Eastern parts of the world. Men and women go in at different times. The first thing you do is shower and sluice down at the wash basins, then go onto the heated marble plinth where attendants soap you and scrub you. Try and remember to ask for a gentle scrub otherwise they might flay you! You come out clean and pinkly clean - very very clean. Every bit of dead skin gone.

Outside there are markets, coffee shops and cool covered areas to sit in. Chess areas are extremely popular.... but there is a lot of socialising.

OK piccys slides and links...

    Hi there Smoky, :D

You are such a versatile and talented builder! You are capable of building anything! From beautiful English tudor cottages, to modern builds and to Arabian builds! I am totally impressed by how atmospheric your lot is! I am loving the architecture and the layout of the market and the hamam facilities! Where did you get those mosaic tiles? That gives the lot a really authentic feel to it! Great job! Recommended! *whisper: I think you might win the challenge*

Wow, I am really impressed with this, Smoky! I agree with what Yanti said, you can build anything! The decorating and landscaping is great, and what a unique idea it was to build this. Your description about the bath house reminded me a little of the Roman baths in... well, in the city of Bath. The middle eastern versions seem to have a lot more about them though. Fantastic job, I will gladly rec this. Good luck in the challange, too. :)

Hey guys thanks a lot for all those lovely things you say!
Yanti I got the tile pattern from the ea exchange.... I am soo sorry don't remember the link! but thank them anyway! Morroccan tilles I think they were called.

In all honesty tdewd, I have painted and drawn all my life so now I am beginning to learn the tools of this trade I use the same eyes! Hmm, not sure if I agree about Bath Baths tho, oh I see!! the interior.... Now theres a challenge, the exterior of an English spa resort! Victorian, gothic.... and a bit spartan inside!

Wanders off drawing in sketch book.....

    Hi Smoky
This looks like an oasis, I would love to be sitting at one of those tables having a cup of coffee. :D:D:D
The pattern you have chosen for the walls is beautiful it reminds me of mosaic tiles.
Wonderful job off to rec.

Well, when I said it reminded me of the Bath baths, it was more the atmosphere I imagined it to have had in its heyday. I suppose a true Roman bath would have been a better example to compare it to, but I've never seen one in real life. ;)

    You should build it though!

    Smoky,
It's a wonderful build. Very atmospheric and exotic. Unless you're from the middle east, lol. I love the steamy look too. Would have been a definite stop on the "Hippie Trail" back in the 60's. My first wife was a Hippie, I think I see her in one of the slideshow pics. Is that a hookah near her? LOL.
Off to rec and relax in the bath.

Hi Smoky, you did a amazing job with the Kalipha Hamam. The middle eastern design looks very authentic. I really like the coffee shop, markets, and the brown camels. In addition, you did a perfect job with the interiors. Rec, dl, and fav from me. :D
