    Loosing sound, erratic gameplay?

    Playing the Sims 3 with all the expansion packs on a 2008 iMac. With Ambitions I'm loosing the everyday sounds after I complete a task but the background music still plays. Also part way through gameplay jobs don't show completed even though they are - such as catching 5/5 ghosts but the counter still reads 0/5. Very strange.

    Sims 3 version is 4.0.87.0060001
