Anyone else having this problem?
I just bought the same, have had it for maybe an hour and I installed it fine. I go to play the game and this is what I get:
"There was an error during startup. Please see the Log for more details."
kjvkjdfkjsjvdsk! AHHH!
So, I uninstalled all three parts in my control panel and reinstalled (in case CC was causing this) and to no avail.
Anyone find a solution yet?

I recieved an email saying to uninstall and reinstall all my Sims 3 games manually by the EA team.

I was SOO dissapointed and angry when it happened. I am about to uninstall all my games now.
But in the mean time I have been playing through TS3EP02 in the Sims 3 Bin folder in Program files (Ea --> the sims 3--> etc)
Please tell me if you have found a solution,

i'm currently on live chat with the EA team, they are not very helpful at all.
i may call the support line, i've tried everything, my video card driver is perfectly up to date and i have re-installed both the base game and ambitions, and IT STILL DOESNT WORK!!!
i'll reply if i find out the fix for the problem x
apparently uninstalling and re-installing EA download manager had fixed the problem, hope this helps!!!!!!!! x
