    Upgrading items

    do I have to keep the items in order for the upgrade to count because I'm trying to complete Tinkerer challenge

      no, you don't have to keep the items you upgrade for them to count,

      get a fireplace if you don't already have one, there are three unique upgrades on it

      You don't even have to own everything you upgrade. I often do upgrades at community lots and sometimes at the neighbor's if I'm best friends with one of them.
