Modern City Girl - Build-n-Share #45

I joined this B-n-S this round as I have never build a modern home before! I'm much more into beachy, craftsman, victorian houses, so I felt it would be a great challenge to see if I was actually capable of making one or not. I kept the inside very open, as per the B-n-S rules this round, tons of art hanging everywhere, limited landscaping but just a touch of it to keep it interesting.

All the walls are white, and the frams/doors/windows are all black, as the B-n-S character, Raine, loves Black.

View from kitchen to the living area. The counter tops and cupboard are all stainless steel, but as it is a reflective surface, it's hard to notice it!

As per the challenge, Raine wanted an art area, so this open loft off the master bedroom allows her to stay away from visiting guests, but has windows for her to enjoy every view of Sunset Valley.

misscbong I think you did an excellent job with a modern building! I hope to see more from you. I absolutely adore the landscaping; I can’t imagine Raine complaining about it. The L shape was a great choice as well as the black windows. Very very nice house.

misscbong, I really love the openness of this build! You've created some nice spaces and I love your use of the large black windows on the white walls...nice contrast!

I really like your use of windows, the exteriors are great! Love the little zen garden in front of the house. A great airy feel to the interiors, great art area! The stairs create a point of interest in your living area, well done Already rec'd it though!

I love this. It's open but doesn't have an empty feel to it. Rec'd it.

Thanks everyone for the comments! It was very different for me to do something more modern in design, so it's nice to see it being received so well.
