Nam and jaded: I'm not going to comment on your build yet as since I am taking part in the challenge I don't want to unwittingly glean ideas from it. But as soon as my build is done I will be looking as I know I'll have many good things to say :)

Jack a palette is the term used for color choice. Most build will select a color palette (color choice) fort he exterior (outside) and interior (inside) of the home. It makes the build more cohisive and belnd. Below is a link to colourlovers. That is the website used by most of the biulders'101 people.

You can search by color name or by hex number. You can also create your own color palette at this site.

Well guys wish me luck. Today I am planning on completeing my hotel shell. So far I have the lookout tower...is it supposed to be lighthouse-ish? I am working with a really complicated houseplan but I'm hoping I can tweak it to suit my needs. I really do urge others, even novice to try this, I just started over the christmas holidays and I seem to be handling the challenges ok so far. They sound a lot more intimidating in theory than they really are IMO. Good luck everyone :D

Okay... question... in the Victorian House Challenge.. we are allowed transferable CC right? But, what about WA stuff? Is That allowed? I'm soooo confused! :S And, no store stuff, right? If not, that's too bad, cause they have that new Goth set out! lol

EDIT::: Just answered my own question.. re-read, AGAIN, the rules which clearly states TRANSFERRABLE CC ONLY!! Which means only basegame, WA, and green W marked TSR stuff! NO STORE STUFF! Right?? lol

Jack.. when you click on the palette you like, the individual colors come up below it... under each color is a number or hex code... will look like this #123456 or #abcdef .. a mix of letters and numbers... just copy them down somewhere you won't lose them. For me, the easiest thing to do is enter the game, then somewhere on the property close to the house, I put up 5 walls separately... looking down on the them they look like this -_-_- then I pick a PLAIN wall covering, then color each wall one of the pallet colors.. I find that that helps with my decision on which color to use with which color. I hope you understand what I'm saying kiddo!! :D HUGS

Here are lots with nothing but transferable cc (which means you can use in town challenges) Pick what you want.. or download all of them--- some from TSR some from foreign sites that use the same tools TSR does... all of it gathered in one list.

there are roof beams over 30 doors windows and matching arches.. castle parts.. a catapult, a rack (torture type) skeletons for you dungeony people.. clutter by the gobs... special build stuff including all the flowers I use... a decorative half column... wagons , plows , ceiling fans... bathtubs.. showers parts to make custom built in showers... special beds... a lawn mower... art.. wall ivy... so far everyone I have sent it to has gotten everything without anyproblems so y'all should be able to get at least most of it...

I am not claiming responsibility for making any of this stuff... or knowing for sure that where I got it from is where the origianl creator posted it... I am just sticking it all in one very useful place for my cc loving 101 friends.

    Decoration stuff

    decor part 1---- http://www.4shared.com/file/192977943/b102a401/Cecor_CC_part_1.html

decor part 2 --- weapons and paintngs--- http://www.4shared.com/file/192981482/c55380c5/Decor_CC_part_2---weapons_and_.html

    decor part 3--- misc---- http://www.4shared.com/file/192988415/f7fde1a5/decor_cc_part_3_---misc.html

    Building and landscaping stuff

    build mode part 1--- http://www.4shared.com/file/176877387/3dd44f46/_2__Doors_and_windows.html

    build mode part 2---- http://www.4shared.com/file/179936229/51698215/Doors_Windows_Stairs_castle_pa.html

Build mode and landscaping part 3---- includes roof beams---

roof beams are under fencing and show as blank squares... they don't show until you place them... then they hover 1 story above whatever level you put them on.
