skip certain updates while getting others?

Is it possible to skip certain update but apply others? My game is currently the out of box retail version and never been updated cause I don't really like some of the patches they made in some of the updates, but the most recent update they did I read through the list and there alot of stuff there that is neat and that I like is there a way to only update to that version? Like can I only install that update or will it say I have to apply other patches too or does it automatically update all patches? I hope someone understands what I am looking for. Thank You.
