error while loading my game. please help

everytime i try to load my family the screen goes black and a little window says:
a serious error has ocurred while loading 'sunset valley.sims3'. It is strongly recommended that you restart the application.

Your saved game is probably corrupt. If you don't mind using your save before that, go to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves and move 'sunset valley.sims3' to another location and remove '.backup' from 'sunset valley.sims3.backup'. Start the game up again and try loading your save.
