Favorite bug fixes of 2022

Looking back to 2021, my favorite bug fixes were the autonomous cooking bug and the stairs with fences at the top bug. Many other bugs were fixed in 2021.

In 2022, sadly, most of the useful bug fixes were for content released in 2022 that had bugs in it already, or immediately caused bugs in other parts of the game. In this category are:
- all the My Wedding Stories bugs
- all the High School Years bugs
- Save Code Error 0 that ate people's saves
- Groundhog Day
- Autonomous insulting (mostly fixed, not completely)
- Not running over long distances (still broken for occults with super speed)
- Phone cover color woes
- Etc.

However, there still were a bunch more bug fixes that we can appreciate. My very favorite bugfix for 2022 is
We can now build rockets again!
Hooray!

This one had been a problem since the release of Cottage Living I think? It had something to do with the code that tests for a GeekCon festival conflicting with the Cottage Living fair code.

My other favorite updates of 2022 address issues that truly felt like bugs to me since I started playing the game: there was no way to have nonbinary pronouns, and there was no way to have the neighborhood progress (other than aging) without resorting to mods or having to play many many households. I greatly appreciate the pronouns update, even though it isn't finished yet

and ditto for Neighborhood Stories.

Here are some more bug fixes of 2022 (that weren't just fixes to out-of-the-box-bugged 2022 content).

- Walking in a blizzard no longer looks like having to go to the bathroom
- Aging up via cake was fixed
- Doctors no longer T-pose during surgery
- Room Additions and Level Additions for interior decorators were fixed
- Self-care specialist sims' Hustle was fixed
- Go To Class Early can now be done more reliably at university
- Books no longer show up as juice fizzing ingredients
- Mountain Climb Excursions no longer cancel themselves
- Mannequins no longer cause the game to crash

Thank you to the many anonymous people working on the bugs for us!

Honestly any bug fix is great, but the large ones like aging up for no reason and groundhog day are literally game breaking and make me abandon the game, so whenever they are fixed is a huge joy!

I understand this thread is focused more on the non-high school lives bugs, but do you know if the bug where your sims would leave class during exams has been fixed? It was so bad in my game I actually had dificulty completing tests at all.. they would try standing up like 4 or 5 times during each exam...

Quit the game due to that one and I have been waiting on the fix to return, which is why I ask :)

Looking at the topic for it on the bug fix forum, it doesn't look like it's been fixed yet, but you could disable autonomy as a workaround.

Ty for the suggestion, but turning off automony to fix a bug feels like breaking a feature I like *automony* just to make the game function... I don't consider that an acceptable solution. I'd rather shelve the game again and wait for a proper fix... looks like years instead of months again... but that's a typical turn around for an EA bugfix so I guess acting shocked would be kind of silly hehe.

When dealing with Maxis, EA... patience isn't a suggestion, it's a requirement LOL

    Thanks again

ps. I KNEW that I should have waited a couple of years before buying ANY new Sims expansion... every time I break down and buy a game early I have to remind myself of my rule.

**golden rule of gameing** Google the game a week after release.. if there are a lot of bugs being reported..... WAIT TO BUY IT....

*sigh* another lesson learned I guess

    *edited for clarity

@jmac2727 I left this note in your other thread, but the easiest workaround I can think of for now is just to send them to school without you on Fridays. That would allow you to enjoy all your other gameplay :)

    Bugs are very irritating.
