Death & Dying

I know I'm one who prefers more random deaths in the game, but lately it seems that my Rock Star is losing someone in his circle a tad too often. These are generally the Elderly Paparazzi, whom he befriends. Just got another notice during this gaming session. I have made the decision, I am going to age-down these Sims one age level whenever I come across them. I just aged down from Elder to Adult, one of his Obsessed Fans that come with the Road to Fame mod. It's not that I am opposed to death, per se, it's just that this particular Sim seems to be plagued by it. He's NOT Jessica Fletcher, after all. Death shouldn't follow him around.

I would restart him again, but this is the latest restart!

Is anyone else having this problem?

In my opinion for death to stay impactful, it should be rare. The more the sims drop like flies, the more it loses its dread. That's why I think you're doing the right thing with aging down your elders.

(In my game side saves are fair game, the sims dropped like flies in the Oregon and Moby D. challenge, but in everything connected to the main timeline I curate sims dying havily. Since I play so many side saves, my main moves very slowly, and is set to aging off anyway, therefore I rarely run into that problem.)

Yes, rare. I think they should have copied the percentages used in Sims2. There was that aura of death, yet it didn't always result in death. Most of the percentage, I think, involved the Sims' Needs status. It took three tries, one time, in order for the ghost to scare my Sim to death. Mind you, that's not what I wanted. She had just given birth and was in high spirits the first time he scared her. She survived and I was thinking phew! But, then her hunger went low and he came at her a second time (or maybe it was a third time, lots of years have gone by). That's when I lost her. Leaving two men with a Toddler and a newborn was a joke. Plus, the husband and his father kept weeping. I deleted that save and started over.
