Bats In the Game?

My Sim family is currently living in Brindleton Bay. Erik just got back from the Photo Studios and while he was giving an exclusive interview with one of the Paparazzi who often hang around outside of his gated home, I noticed another Sim was busy chasing birds, or so it looked. My attention was drawn to it when the birds started making a loud noise. I zoomed in to realize it was a coven of Bats! So, since I DO NOT HAVE VAMPIRES, I have to ask, how long have we had bats in the game? I do believe this is the first time I've even seen such.

ETA: I must amend my statement the Sim wasn't chasing them, he was doing the I'm very scared dance. Just caught him when I went back into the game.

attacked by plasma bats? in jungle adventure i believe but that doesnt make sense in brindleton bay

First time i read something like this lol. As Simmingal said, you can be attacked by bats doing exploration on selvadorada, but thats about it.

Huh. I thought I caught a glimpse of bats when I was playing the other day. But since I was on my mom's computer playing in her game, which does not have Vampires, I decided I was hallucinating. I was either in Britechester or, dang it, can't remember the name... the world the Goths live in. Now I wonder if maybe I really did see bats...

Well, they have certainly made an appearance in mine. It was odd and the poor Sim that was scared witless was just there, I'm sure to catch a glimpse of my Global Superstar. I can just hear his thoughts now. Hm is Erik Cantrell a Vampire?

My sim just got attacked by plasma bats today. I have the "creepy crawlies" house trait on. I am going for as spooky of a house as possible and the constant spiders is hilarious. The bees and the bats are way more random.

Ooo, lucky! My superhero Dark Knights (Based on Batman & Batgirl) don't have bats around.

I've seen bats around the pet cemetary on the Lighthouse island! I think they were originally a teaser for Vampires because Cats and Dogs was released right before it. One of the big paintings from the Cats and Dogs pack mentioned "a plasma drinking phantom" that was lurking around (which would be Vlad lol) Also the lady in the painting is wearing a dress featured in the Vampires pack.

Do you happen to have KawaiiStacie's SOL installed? I couldve sworn the bats came from that mod. Or her Explore Mod.

I've had SOL before and never saw bats. I have recently re-installed it once she declared it compatible with the latest patch. But, that's weird, even so. Thanks for the info!

The creepy crawlies lot trait that came with jungle adventures will sometimes spawn bats on the lot. Does the lot the sim is on have that trait?
