Last name doesn't change when married still?

I just had my 2 sims get married and the last name of the sim that I married did not change.

Both sims were female.
One sim was a CAS and one sim was a townie.
Threw a wedding party and used the arch to get married.

The name of sims when they are married don’t automatically change when they get married. You need to go to Manage Households, and take the sims household into CAS to edit their names after they get married.

Ah ok thank you. Used to the previous sims games where it did change automatically.

This is a bit of a necrobump, but does anyone know of a mod that can make the last name change automatically? I don't like the way it is. Frankly a lot about The Sims 4 has disappointed me since I purchased and downloaded it a few days ago, but that's a bit off topic.

I believe MC Command Center has a setting for it, but it might not apply to Sims you're playing.

You could use this option in MCCC mod
MCCC > MC Cleaner > Sim Cleaner > Sync Married Names

This will sync-up married sims' last names, including the active lot. If MC Pregnancy is not deployed, it uses pretty simple logic right now, male last name taken in case of male/female couples and random last name used if both are the same sex. Otherwise, it will use the MC Marriage settings for determining last name. The household will be named to the new name if it was the other sim's name previously.
