it takes a pretty long time to finish a whole game of bowling. an astoundingly long time actually. couple mods that ought to help speed up the process here if you're interested.

I had a game that took 13 hours. Their needs went into all red and they were miserable. And to add insult to injury they hadn’t built any social and their bowling skill had only raised one measly point.

Needless to say my sims rarely go bowling. Not a good group activity.

How many Sims did you take bowling together? I took along 3 and they were all in their own household and they constantly complained about sore muscles and I had to stop them bowling after running through their game about 12-ish hours in.

3 I believe. Mum and two teens. Dad was there but for whatever reason he decided not to play but watch. Yup they complained about sore muscles too. For the Mum I thought it was pretty funny because she had just completed the body builder aspiration and had maxed fitness skill.

    Wow, quite an oversight there.

lol I can't believe the devs released the pack without noticing how LONG a bowling match takes. Also the bowling skill takes forever to build up. They need to tweak this.

Yeah, this is definitely the reason I don't bring my sims bowling anymore.

Maybe they took it literally when it was called BOWLING NIGHT Stuff that you'd literally be bowling all night...Literally.

Your more likely to end a chess match and two paintings faster and maybe two game sessions than you are at bowling. I had a bowling match with only two sims on the lot and 16 sims in the district and it still took my sims a good 6 sim hours before the matched was finished because it has a bit of a time lag in between players.

Also composing a song takes like a week, but somehow writing a whole novel and finishing a painting takes a couple of hours? XD

Well, actually if you've ever compared painting vs song writing...

Yep.... sometimes I think "maybe I should take my sims bowling" but then I remember how long it takes and how it does nothing for their social need and I'm like "naw"... and to think, we paid money for this useless content? : /

Well you don't have to let them finish a game. I didn't the one time I had a group bowling. Everyone got one turn, then it was off to bed.

Imagine trying to go on a simmy date where you go bowling and then for a dine-out meal? LOL.

Your sims would need to book a week off work to get through both events.

LOL! I wonder if bowling takes less time at higher levels. The way sims with higher handiness skills finish repairs faster.

The bowling pack is the pack that I most regret buying. The bowling is long and boring, and I almost never use any of the items in my game.

Terrible pack indeed. They can’t even socialise when bowling ! How ridiculous

They know how long bowling takes....that's why they said sims don't chat while bowling, it's already a very long activity and chatting would cause it to be even longer.

In Sims 2 the sims sitting are chatting while another sim is playing. So that doesn’t take extra time. It looks quite natural. Made this video a while ago:

Thanks for the link to the mod. :) I just took my 2 sims bowling and it took about 4 hours for them to finish one game. They are both at level 5 bowling skill. It seems there is a lot of idle and wasted time while waiting for one sim to take their turn and while waiting for the ball to return. I was keeping track and It took up at least one hour of the four hours they were there.

Gonna add the mod and check again.

ETA: Tried two games after installing the mod and for some reason the game time increased to five hours. Not sure whats going on so I'll just remove it. My sims go bowling weekly so I'll just continue to plan on spending an evening at the bowling alley. :)

I installed this mod by the same creator a couple days ago and I'm happy with the way it works: it doesn't speed up bowling but you can choose how many rounds make up a game, so games are much shorter. I think I chose the 3-round game with three Sims and it lasted a couple of Sim hours - much more realistic!

Thanks @loubyloulou. I'll check it out today. :)

Edit To Add: Installed the mod. 3-round game took 1hr and 45 minutes! Excellent!
