Since Feb Patch...DISASTER!

hi, did you notice weird things about the sims since the patch, mine just hangs and if it even it loads the sims won't put away food and when they play guitar the sound cuts out...I'm on Mac. I have Vamps, GTW, GT, DO and CL... My CC and Mods are out and off. I know everyone cares more about JA now but how can we even get excited for JA if our game keeps crashing since the patch?

Have you tried repairing your game after you took out your mods? Sometimes mod issues linger even if they've been removed from the game. Try repairing it and playing a completely fresh save to see if you still have the issue.

Repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.

Try deleting the cache files and see if that helps

If the issues remain and the game keeps crashing, it may be best to post in the Mac Tech section of the forums

Thanks much to the both of you, I've tried repairing it did no good. If I delete cache will I lose saves?

Deleting the cache files doesn’t affect saves . Your save games will remain.

Hi I am having issues with my game. My sim will go talk to a friend and then The walls go up and I can not see my Sims or anything in the house.

Try having your sims travel to another lot. Then have them travel back home again and see if the issues remain.

If the issues remain, try evicting the sins household, then placing them back into the original home and see if the issues remain.

Hmm my game takes much longer to open now than it did before the patch. The time in between me starting the game and me seeing the white screen where I can press new or load game.

I might go through my CC eventually and see if that’s the problem. I replaced a bunch already with their new updated versions but so far no change.

Yes, that too, my game takes forever to even start... what mods have you tried to remove, maybe if we have some of the same ones we can compare.

Just checked my game. I don't have a lot of CC or Mods, and I updated everything yesterday and the game runs fine for me. Here are a few handy tips for both Windows computers and Macs.

1) Keep track of the websites/blogs that you download any CC or Mods from. This will save you lots of aggravation later.

2) Make sure to check these sites when you see the notice on the forums that a new patch is available. You always know that a new patch will be released just before a new EP/SP/GP is coming out. And they also issue updates at least once a month even if no new content is being released.

3) Turn off automatic updates to Origin and games. To do this check your preferences in Origin. This will allow you to check and make sure your favorite Mods/CC are compatible with the newest patch. This is why it is important to keep track of where you get your Mods/CC from so you can check for compatibility.

4) Once you know everything is back up to date and running, patch your game.

Try moving your whole mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and test to see if that helps the issues.

So, hi. Today I wanted to play TS4 after forever and for the first time in my life I get this error "script call failed" when trying to place in-game non-CCitems like counters. All the kitchen counters were gone into the family inventory and I couldn't place them back.
Guess I shall try a repair.
If this doesn't fix it, I'll just go back to TS3.

Oh I’m sure it’s a mod that hasn’t been updated that is the problem. I’m just too lazy to figure out which one it is. That’s why I said I’ll have to wait for a day when I’m bored or something to go through my folder.

I did a repair and that didnt solve the issue.

Took out mods and CC, same thing.
I guess I'll come back to this game once bugs get fixed.

Is the issue only affecting one household /home? If it is, try evicting the household , then placing them back in their original home and see if the issues remain.
Try saving the home to your library, then bulldoze the lot, then place the saved home from your library back onto the lot and see if the issues remain.
