    Firefighter active career not responding to emergencies (update)

    Hello,

    Just re-installed sims 3. I'm playing the firefighter active career. My sim cannot respond to any fires. Anyone else experiencing this?

      Allow me to update myself in case anyone has this same issue. Once my sim received a promotion to level 2 in the firefighter career he can now respond to emergencies.

      That means for the first 3 days of him starting the career he didn't earn any money.

      I believe that firefighters get a weekly stipend just for showing up to work, in addition to getting paid by the disaster. It won't be much at the lowest levels, but in the beginning your sim should be building their skills and keeping the alarms and fire trucks maintained (which they have to do at all levels anyway) while on duty. So they sort of did get paid, indirectly, or at least they should have. ;)
