Cooking Problem

I have an outdoor wedding venue with an outdoor kitchen. Whenever I have a wedding party here and hire a caterer, she/he comes and bakes a cake, but all the other food never gets cooked and just gets littered around the venue.
I try and get one of my Sims to resume cooking, and they just get that thingo happening, like something is in the way, and the action gets cancelled.
I have moved the stove to numerous different places. There's nothing above to get in the way, and just can't find what's causing it.

I haven't repaired game, as I've done that before in other instances and this problem continues to happen.
Anyone have any ideas?
Would the caterer cook on a BBQ, that's my only other option.

Other simmers also have cooking issues when hiring caterers. The caterer only cooks one thing, or stops in the middle of cooking, or doesn't cook anything.
It would be good if you could post your feedback on the issue on the AHQ EA thread that refers to the issue. It will be helpful for the game developers

Righty-o, I'll get onto that. Meanwhile - messy venue!
I think in future I'll bake the cake at home and take it with me (well, not me as such!), and forget about caterers.

Hello.
It is good idea to have your sim bake the cake and take it with them, instead of having a caterer. .

Yes and put a BBQ there and so guests can look after themselves!

It would be great for the wedding guests to cook their own meals on the BBQ.
You could also have the buffet table and fountain there too.

Well that worked well. I baked the cake before my sims went to the party, put it on the table. Hired no caterer or mixologist, changed the lot from a park type venue to an open air bar, put in a BBQ, and no more caterers acting up! Food went well, and party a success. Also hired no entertainment, I put in a dance floor and sound system, and they danced the night away
