@becks1112 Yes, the skies are gorgeous. I've also used the lighting mods before. I don't have them installed right now, but the sunrises, sunsets are breathtaking at times. What a lift to the spirits just to see them on screen--just as in real life.
@jaletu2005 Cladbridge-on-Stowe looks wonderful. I've seen it before and was tempted to download it, but wanted to spend some time in the EA worlds I hadn't played in yet. Now, I need to check this world out again. Thanks for sharing!
I caught the setting moon in Oasis Landing (normal version):
Here's the setting sun in the dystopia version:
Which is probably the only nice thing about the dystopia OL except for all the free ITF objects in the trash piles all over town. For comparison, here's the setting sun in the normal version of OL:
I guess the lesson is that dirtier air makes for prettier sunsets.
Did Oasis Landing come with ITF? It looks interesting. Really like your pictures. And yes just as in real life particles in the air make prettier sunsets.
Yesterday I decided to create a 10X10 perfect plant lot so took my gardener and her husband from Riverview game to a world I downloaded, Altair Cay, since it is a smaller world and starts with no population (fast load up time). Later after they had planted everything I sent them to dinner at the bistro around sunset and noticed how beautiful everything looked. There is a lot of fog down by the docks so got a similar effect.
Yeah, Oasis Landing is from ITF. Nice pics, I don't think I've ever gotten any sunsets like that with fog before.
Thanks, Part of that is due to the lighting mod I was using - brntwaffles freshCutDay 2.5. Although I have only ever used Altair Cay as a vacation town using the Traveler mod I think I will play a new game there but put the perfect day lighting mod in for the longer daylight hours.
@BlackSand Hidden Springs is really lovely, I sent my sim out on a boat but was so busy keeping up with him I didn't get pics, love being able to see the worlds from that perspective. It's spectacular in the snow, makes me think of the Swiss Alps
And for the very opposite here's a Sunlit Tides view
@MemoriiValentine That's an incredible piece of art! Is it street art?

Love both pictures. EA really got the scenery right in Sims 3.

I am really tempted to reinstall The Sims 3 and all the baggage because of this thread.
Haha that's true
Well they just look bluer
Ok I also adjusted contrast and stuff, but did not add or remove anything from the picture, and I did that with iphoto...

Love all the photos on this thread.
Here's a wintery one
And the sun set at the beach Evansdale County
Windsurfing in Hidden Springs
Hidden Springs has some awesome scenery ... Especially once you get out on the water.
.
The pond is so... artful! Is this a scenery painting?
