Items Turning Weird Colors

I just started building again and it seems that several items, both building items and furniture, etc., that are changing into some weird colors. I have never had this issue before and it exist for both new items and for items I've had in my game for a while and probably some are from the base game. I cannot use these items as the colors are completely abnormal.

Is anyone else having his problem and if so, how do we get a fix for it?

Can you be more specific? Like what items exactly, what color they're supposed to be, and what color they are that's abnormal? Maybe post some pictures. Also are your graphics drivers up to date?

I learned something else; some items will not be placed because the footprint is missing, which tells me my game is corrupted somehow. Sounds like I need to do a reinstall and see if that fixes the issue.

I don't understand why this is only with a few of the items. Several items when I try picking them up to place them in game, just don't place at all but a couch, which changed colors, would not be placed and an error message appeared saying it is missing it's footprint.

My graphics card is updated as I just updated it so I'm sure it's not that. Everything else in the game seems to be working fine.

I'm not going to reinstall it today as I've got other things to do but I will tomorrow morning.

Repairing the game may help. To do that, go to games library in Origin, right click on the sims 4 picture and click repair

If you using a laptop, try enabling laptop mode and see if the issues remain.

Try deleting the cache files and see if that helps

@rosemow, No, I use a desktop. I did think of that after saying I would reinstall. So tomorrow I'll first try to repair the game and if that doesn't work, I'll save my new house and a family I started in my library and reinstall. Hopefully at least that will work.

Another possibility, so you use mods or cc? If so it would be a good idea to remove them and see if the issue remains.

@Pamtastic72, nope, I never use mods or cc in my builds. I just recently reinstalled Windows 10 and also reinstalled my Sims game, so something had to go wrong when I did that. I'm sure something will fix it but I'm waiting until tomorrow. I work nights and I've got to get in bed for some rest. I'll get back to you guys after trying out a few things; lastly, reinstalling the game if nothing else works. Thanks again.

Well, the repair didn't work. I'll try @rosemow 's idea about cleaning out the cache and if that doesn't work, the only other thing will be a complete reinstall. Wish me luck.

Thanks @rosemow. Let's just hope the new install fixes them. I had to lose my WIP and I'm going to try and rebuild it the same way, if I can. At least there's a good chance I got rid of the problem but we'll see. Not today though. Tomorrow I'll start and I'll see.

Also, thing is, I started to save the family I created to my library and when I went into their house, lots of items were corrupted and changed to weird colors. So I decided not to save it. This also tells me that the problem occurred after I had placed them in a house. I played that house for a while and there was no problem. Then I went to build a new house and that's when things began to occur because the house with the family was affected afterwards. I have no idea what happened with all of that. I must have done something that messed it up.

I hope that things go better tomorrow, when you test the game after reinstalling. I also hope that your rebuilding of your WIP goes well.

Everyone, especially @rosemow, It would seem the reinstall of my game fixed the issues I was having. I have started to build a new house and I have had no weird color issues or items that will not place. I'll let you know if that changes, though I don't think it will. Thanks again for your input and assistance.
