Why not two parents?

I created a teen sim then her father based off her genetics. Then I did the same to make her mother. But then her father changed to her roommate. I switched it back to “father” in the drop down menu then her mother turned to “roommate”. Even when I “married” the parents in CAS one was the teen’s roommate. When I selected the mother sim, the teen was greyed out and said “cannot edit pre-existing sim” but I was allowed to do so for the father/teen relation. Why is this happening and why is making family relationships in CAS so complicated?

If you have MC Command Center mod you can use that mod to set relationships.

Yeah I remember this happening to me too. Three of my sims are siblings and I wanted to create parents for them using the cas.fulleditmode cheat. The father was set as "roommate" in CAS (I couldnt fix this at all) and "step-father" in the relationships-tab for the siblings. I fixed it with the relationship cheat, but it annoys me that the family tree is all wrong. It says their father is unknown and I can't fix it without having to install a mod :/

Thanks @rosemow but I don’t think that’s what I’m looking for. I’m trying to set my teen sims parents as “mother” and “father” in CAS but it only allows one to be a parent and the other a roommate. The cheats in the link simply modify the relationship levels the sims already have.

@LadyLlamacorn how did you fix it with those cheats? I’ve used those cheats and MCCC but it only changes relationship levels from what I’ve seen. Am I missing something?

After you have created the sims, and are playing them in the game, you can then use MCCC mod to change their relationships. Then after doing that, the parents will appear as mother and father if you take them then into CAS.

@rosemow Do I do this via a computer in the game or just click “modify in cas” on the sim?
