Pets can't cross the really low fences (the one from GTW or the base game one)

Hi !

While I was building a house yesterday, I found out the family's pet can't cross these really small fences that came with GTW (but Sims can). I use them a lot in my build, to mark a separation between two areas with different floors in a big room, so it's a big issue for me. There is no reason why a big dog like this can't cross this, I'm pretty sure it's not intentional, so I hope this can be corrected in the future. ^^'

That's weird. Have you reported it to the bug forum yet?

It may not be a bug. All those are classified as a "FENCE" so maybe it's on purpose.

This is a good thing, in my opinion... I hope they don't "fix" it unless they give us a lot trait to prevent pets. It's the only way, and an easy way at that, to keep pets out of community lots. Otherwise you have dirty dogs swimming in gym pools, cats jumping up on bar counters, etc. Currently there is no lot trait to prevent pets from nightclubs, bars, gyms, and doors can't be locked against pets on community lots either.

Here is an example of how I can keep pets out of the gym (note, the rug doesn't actually do anything, it's the "fence" that keeps pets out but lets Sims pass by).

Ha! I was wondering why my cats couldn't get in to their playroom last night! It's because I have that little fence across the floor as a transition strip between the kitchen and livingroom flooring!

Thanks for the thread! I can fix it when I play tomorrow.

Yes, but Sims can pass it with no issue, there is no logical reason a pets can't. ^^'

As I use this a lot in my build, I really hope this can be corrected :(

Lot trait that says animals are unwelcome please! Or even a "no animals allowed" sign you can put up somewhere that has the same effect. Thatd be cute since stores have them where i am

Rofl. Yes i noticed this when my dogs wouldn't come inside the house, because i had surrounded the house with the smallest window shopping fence. My dogs were almost neglected *eye roll* hahahaha

Yep, it would be nice to have a lot trait, if we don't want animals on our lots. But I hope this issue with fences will be corrected :(

Interesting. I guess you could play it as those tiny fences are like those invisible pet fences. We can’t even see them but pets don’t cross them in real life.

I actually really like the fact they can't escape from the lot with that fence, if they do change it so pets are able to cross it I hope they give us an "invisible" fence that effectively does the same thing. I'd be perfectly content with a little glass version of the current fence that keeps them trapped in their yard or out of a place I don't want them in. I actually first noticed this myself last night.

I also like this, but it's good to know since I use it in my builds too. I also hope they give us one they can walk over, and one they can't.

Bumping this because I tested earlier and it's still a problem. Would be nice if they fixed this in a future patch.
