Origin can't connect to update. No firewall.

So I know this issue has been around but I can't seem to fix it. Go to update Origin. Error 20.2. I look up the fix and easy enough I just need to turn off antivirus... Oh, wait! I don't have anti-virus.
I'm on a mac version 10.11.6
What do I do now?

UPDATE: My impatience got to me and contacted EA. All it took was a reinstall.

You could try uninstalling Origin on your Mac, then try reinstalling it again.

Simmers that have had this issue have found that reinstalling an earlier version of Origin helps. The link that they have though is the windows version

Thank you, I wasn't quite sure where to post this.
Would I still be able to update the Sims 4 without updating Origin?

You need to have a version of Origin installed to update sims 4. If you have further issues, the simmers in the Mac section of the forums may be able to help you or suggest a link to an earlier Mac version of Origin .

If you're getting Error 20:2, try turning off your firewall when you try and install it.

It must mean that some part of the update is just not getting past Firewalls somehow.
