I love the Careers in TS4 but I do miss some. What Careers do you like a lot or want to see?

I wanna see a Fashion Designer Career. I think that would be fun.

I miss the Military and Teacher Careers.

Right now in the game I love the Doctor Career.

Share yours! Happy Simming!

Military, definitely. I miss it so much, and also I would love to see TS4's take on it.

I also miss Teacher, Law, and some of those TS3 careers that I never got to play since I didn't play TS3 like Firefighter.

Actor/Actress. Theatrical Critic. These were probably not careers in earlier versions, but I would love to have these.

Military, still am baffled why we dont have it yet. Active teacher career. Ability to have a home daycare. Actress/Actor. Love OP's fashion career idea. I even miss the "interior designer" and "stylist" from sims 3.

It would be cool to have an upgrated burglar career (like the doctor career was in Sims 3 Ambitions). I want to rob a bank, a casino, steal something from the art gallery...

The majority of my sims never have a career. I don't got time for that. I just need more FUN things for them to do since they mostly have unlimited funds.

I'm enjoying a lot of the base game careers more with the mods at MTS that add the CL "work from home" options to them.

I'd still like the Education career back mainly. Maybe a Film career that splits into Acting and Production paths (Acting requiring high Charisma, plus some Fitness so your Sim looks good; Production would be Logic and Writing. Maybe Sims with high Musical Instrument skill could sell compositions to the production studios.)

Playing the base game careers with or without mods, is just a pain. To me, anyway. EA might have changed the way promotions are achieved, but I would rather have to make friends in order to climb the ladder, than do the same daily task every single day. And in Sims4 life is all about going out and having clubs and friends. So why is making friends not a part of getting ahead in one's job? Rather than getting back some of the old careers, why doesn't EA make the ones we have a bit more interesting and challenging? Almost every Sim I play turns a hobby into a home-based career. And there are many ways to make money other than jumping into a career in this game. I guess if I had to wish for one career to come back, it would be the military career. It was fun watching my Sims navigate the obstacle course.

    Actor/actress
    Military
    Fireman
    Repairman
    Gardener
    Lawyer

All of these could be fun as active careers.
Either way, we need more careers, active or not.

I would love some more careers, especially non active ones. I feel I have done them all to death now and the active ones can be a bit glitchy. Education and law would be good and I love the biologist/oceanography ideas, I can see the skills and traits to match. The OP mentioned fashion design but any design career would be good and have the option to specialise e.g. fashion, graphic etc. Plus CL's districts would be a perfect place to live to do it.

Magician or the singer career where you can perform shows. Love that in sims 3 but my game was so laggy I couldn't really enjoy it.

Yes. I don't mind daily tasks but the careers don't always have to be about that. It feels so much like level grinding in some of the MMORPGs I've played. I'd love to have other ways to go up the promotion ladder, like for instance the friend requirement @Paigeisin5 mentions here above. Maybe having to get on a good side of a Sim or Sims that is/are influential in the job of our choice.

And here is just an idea. We have a clubsystem now. Maybe weave a certain club into a requirements for some careers or something that would give a promotional boost or even a lateral position with maybe payrise or even a payrise but not a promotion that is only opened by joining or even creating certain clubs.

They are, yes, BUT they need to be fixed first. The detective career has been buggy for a loooong time! I also love the ones that you can choose wether you want to work from home. I find those are great for single parents who don't always want to send their little sprogs to daycare. I wish there were more careers like that.

All the ideas here for a career is great, and I could see several of my Sims doing lot of these jobs.

I want education the most (with a few different options of branching out at level 5) but in general, I would love to see more regular, down to earth careers like maybe retail worker, etc. I don't always want my sims to live glamorous lives with insanely high paying jobs in business or IT. The game is lacking regular options we see in our irl lives. There are adults who struggle to make ends meet with jobs in customer service and such, this would be a nice realistic touch and a fun challenge.

    Firefighter
    Law enforcement
    Military
    MMA Fighter

Would love to see side projects in careers as well. How far into their career would determine the amount of money
earned. Like a pro athlete might get paid to do a layout for a fitness magazine.

That actually was the case in the base game of Sims 4 -- and people hated it because you ended up spending all your time making friends then having to maintain that friendship level because of the relationship decay system; if you ignored one Sim for a couple of days boom you lost them as a friend then you had to work to get them back to being a friend and in the meantime another Sim would drop off because you'd ignored them while regaining friendship with another Sim and ad infinitum. You'd end up in an endless cycle of making friends, trying to keep those friends, building skills, etc. -- there was practically no chance to do what you wanted to do. Want to play with your child? Sorry, kid, better see if Bella Goth or Geoffrey Landgraab is still my friend...whoops, getting a little low, better go hang out with them!

@stilljustme2 I began playing the Sims4 quite a while after it was released. I did not realize friends were a requirement when the game first came out. I played it for about a half hour then quit and went back to TS2 and TS3. So they must have released a patch/fix to do away with needing friends in order to get a promotion. Thank you for pointing that out. :)
