Well The sims wiki is still a good place for some info.
Unfortunately the good guides i know are in french, but lately @Rflong7 had post a link in the thread about chance card, and it seems kinda good http://www.snootysims.com/thesims2index.php?id=infocenter .

Oh I know. This is a wonderful community. I've never had a particular question go unanswered. I was hoping for something like:

    carls-sims-4-guide.com/

But for TS2. I thought he had one but I can't find it.

And thanks Lulubadwolf! I think that's the guide I had been thinking of that I used to use!

If you're open to the old fashioned type, Ebay usually has all sorts of the originals. With patience you can get a full set of them. On the electronic side these forums are loaded with helpful simmers and oodles of links. Lots of interesting videos out there, too.

Do you mean like what each hidden skill is, and how to do stuff and what each chance card means, and how to gain skills etc. and all that technical stuff like that. SnootySims still has the cheats for all that stuff and for all the boolprop cheats. ModtheSims still has some archived stuff and it may take me a minute to find it, it's stuff originally on the site when TS2 was new, and not what is seen over on the Wiki.

ETA: Here is the link to their Wiki but it still not what I was talking about, there is an older archive if I can still find it.

I would have sworn that "Carl" had a site llike this for TS2:

    carls-sims-3-guide.com/

If you look at that site, it basically gives pretty much all information about any topic you wanted to learn about from how to create a Sim to how to climb up any career ladder. So if I wanted to find out how gardening worked, I could get detailed instructions.

I suppose I should write "Carl" and ask. In the meantime, the Snooty Sims will help. I did noticed that snooty sims is a bit confusing. Some of the pages are for TS3 and TS4 but some of it's for TS2. And it's easy to end up on the wrong section.

I'm not looking for anything specific right now, just some good sites to bookmark for reference. If anyone finds another resource, let me know.

    Thanks guys!

I know Carl did have a guide for sims 2, but I think it has been gone a while. He might have let it go, no google search finds anything now, even the way back machine can't find anything, but I know it existed. I haven't been able to find anything of substance, just little bits here and there. If I run into anything I will let ya know.

Update: I reached out to "Carl" of Carl's Guides and he confirmed that he never did a TS2 guide. Jules1111, I checked that link for the Simswiki and while the page is there as is some of the information, many of the links are gone. For instance there is text that says there is a link to information on careers but there is no clickable link. Having said that, my computer has been acting VERY weird on the Internet the past couple of days with things not loading right. I get my new video card today so I'll check it again later. It looked like a good site and basically what I was hoping for.

**Scratches head** Very strange, I could have sworn that he made one. He would know for sure though. :p I wonder what the heck I was thinking about, maybe I was thinking about 3? It has been to long. :D Oh well @Rflong7 to the rescue... as usual. <3

Me too Jules1111! I hardly played TS3 plus it came out when I was living somewhere else. I remember looking at SOMETHING for reference when I was playing TS2. Maybe it's one of those Rflong7 posted above. Seems to me I might have printed some stuff out long ago so I'll dig around in my "old stuff" cabinet. The above list is great though. I'll be reading up more this weekend!

EDIT: Ok so I had a few minutes before work today and dug around in my "old gaming stuff" cabinet and guess what. I found a print out timestamped 10/27/2007 of all careers up to that date, how much skill you needed to get promoted, work days, salaries and friends. And it's from Snooty Sims.

Jules1111, I think that's what we must have been thinking about, along with the sadly shut down TS2 forums.

@RiennaTelemnar I just found this looking for something else. It is a online guide. They need to be downloaded though.

I use The Sims Wiki very often. Other than that, there's GameFAQs, and the Internet Archive has some official Prima strategy guides in pdf format.

Ive seen some of the guides in e format. Not many though.

I still have all my guides even for the sims 1, 2 and 3. Love them!

The community here is really good at answering questions.

Oh yes. I don't have questions go unanswered for long. As mentioned, I just miss all that information we used to have. But I found the stuff I really needed which is information about all the careers. Printed out and on my desk for the next gen to get good jobs!

I wish I would have had a game guide for TS1. I bought a Prima Guide TS2 book right after TS2 came out. I thought by reading through the TS2 guide it would help me with TS1 or be similar. Of course it was 2 totally different games. This is when I realized TS2 had my full attention. I still have my Prima Guide and actually reference it from time to time.
