Persuading sims won't work

I have an 8 level sim on social media career but whenever I try to persuade someone to anythin they always come at my sim and disagree. It never works even tho how many times I try or how much they know each other, is anyone here experiencing the same?

I am sorry that you are having this issue. Try using other friendly interactions before trying to persuade the sims and see if that helps. Try queuing up multiple times of persuading in a short time and see if that helps.

This is what is written on Carls Sims 4 site, but you probably already know /are doing this

As a reward for your work, you gain the ability to persuade Sims to do things. It unfortunately has a cooldown, but can be fun to use for your own entertainment. Sims will decline if you just walk up to them and tell them what to do, though mood and the friendship bar seemingly have an impact on success rates

I'm trying it on family members who have high relationship bars but still nothing. I think I managed one time and yeah it really has a cooldown but this time I only get relationship decreases.

Edit: Managed it with a different family, I don't think so but could that be the issue?

It could be the particular sim or sims that have the issues with persuading. It may be the mood of the sims at the time, or the traits, or the location where the attempt to persuade another sim is being done.
It is good that it worked with another family. There may been an issue with the first family.
