Sims can travel on vacation to any world that the player has installed if they have the NRaas Traveler mod. I thought the moon was pretty well covered by Lunar Lakes, not so? Of course, that doesn't give us special opportunities and quests associated with the destinations like the WA worlds and to an extent Oasis Landing do, but it does add a lot of variety to our games and allows us to spread our content out among many different worlds so our sims can experience a bit of everything without cramming too much into one single world for them.
I don't know very many people IRL who can go horseback riding, sunbathe on the beach, enjoy winter sports, go deep sea diving, mingle with a population of mostly occults, pick all varieties of fresh produce from a huge farm, ride a roller coaster and then maybe a gondola, see a show at the planetarium, gamble in huge luxurious casinos, dance all night at the clubs, etc. all without ever leaving their small(ish) hometown. And I live in one of the biggest cities in the world.

Gehrdermet... ...I should'a known there was a mod... Ok. Thanks for insight @igazor
Actually, I think the topic is still relevant, because in order to travel to those places, we still need to have those worlds. I think you could probably find just about any place in the world that somebody has made and shared. But finding them won't necessarily be easy. I have an awful time finding anything on the exchange, even when I know that what I'm looking for is there. Unless someone shares a link, it's pretty much a lost cause, at least for me.
I have a question about the mod: Is possible to buy a vacation home outside the travel Adventures worlds? I would love For my sims to have a Little mountain home...

Yes. In non-WA worlds your sims automatically get visa level 3 and can purchase a vacation home. The vacation home lot must be rezoned to be player ownable though. That can be done from Edit Town after your sims arrive, or can be done beforehand if you prepare the world ahead of time as described on the Traveler FAQ. I have Bridgeport set up this way and my sims will occasionally purchase a vacation penthouse when I want them to vacation in the big city.
And if your sims cannot yet afford a vacation home, there is both the purchase involved plus the additional property tax to be paid on the twice weekly bills that come in the mail when they are back home, the Traveler mod lets them stay in any available house in the destination world for free (think of the cost of lodging having been built into the travel ticket). If you don't want inactive sims in the foreign worlds moving into a favored lot in your absence, then you can either mark that one as Player Ownable in Edit Town or pull the refrigerator out before leaving. Or do both.

Thank you! I will try next time I play! In the meantime I'll search For a mountain town to use a vacation place.
@Goulsquash - I like that idea. If the sky were made into 'stone', it could be a very dark 'underworld' to explore. (Instead of blue sky and green grass, etc.)
That would make an Indy Jonas instead of exploring a simple dungeon, a world with dungeons an buildings none been to, etc.
-I approve with a small awesome.
The Bay of Naples. To stand in the forum of Pompeii and stare up at Vesuvius, just as the Romans did, is both beautiful and scary. I would like my sims to share that experience.
I no longer use Origin or My Page. You can find me on YouTube or Twitter as Bettyboop711000. You are welcome to contact me as I explore options for a PC sandbox life simulation game.

I wanted to build a rollercoaster that ran from above ground down into the basement. I couldn't get it to go from ground level down to the basement. In the end I made two above ground coasters and a third one in the dark scary basement.

For me, following the OP's chosen theme there: Greece. I'd have loved for my sims to meet the great Oracle of Delphi.

Pretty sure that's impossible in caw without some large scale custom content
