Detective career - cant find matching suspect while on an APB

I apologise if this is in the wrong area but i cant find the bugs section for some reason. Ive been playing as a detective now for around 2 weeks trying to find the suspect. Ive looked at the suspects description in the notes section of the cell phone but i cant find a sim anywhere after issuing an APB that matches the description. Been trying now for 2 weeks and no luck. Has anyone else been having issues with this? i really dont want to have to quit the career.

The detective career is severely glitched. Ignore all the clues and ask everyone about suspect. The person who says they haven't seen anyone like that and/or doesn't answer at all is your suspect. The ones who are not the suspect will point in the direction of the suspect. Also, sometimes it's your police chief and there is a post about that. Easiest fix when it's the police chief is to go play the police chief when you're not at work and have them quit their job. Crincrict had a long work around but having them quit is easier. You can go to work the next day and it won't be the police chief as the suspect or it will but you can arrest and interrogate them like normal.

Other simmers are having the issue that the eventual suspect doesn't match the description clues that they have been given. You may need to try to arrest other sims, although that may cause a drop in work performance.

Thanks everyone for the replies, ill have a look and see if its the police chief and click around on some more sims to see if i can find the suspect.

I ended up trying to arrest random sims until it worked and the sim was interrogated/guilty. They didn't match the description in the notebook though at all!

Sadly, sometimes they don't. After a while you can kind of get a feel for which one it is without arresting them all based on where the people point to.

After reading this, I think I've discovered my problem.. I've been going off the clues in the notebook but when I issue an APB it takes me somewhere that the suspect isn't.. therefore I haven't been able to find her. Even though one of my other sims has a friend that matches the exact description.. the suspect is never in the area my APB takes me..

Its such a shame the devs dont seem bothered about fixing this, its been an issue now for months. I first saw this reported on the forums back in March.
