Backyard Stuff borked up cleaning

I can't 'clean up' or even wash dishes anymore. It says there's no sink or trash can on the lot despite the fact it's at my house where there's lots of sinks and trash cans. Some dishes I can just drag to sink to make them disappear, but some other dishes won't let me do so, and now they're fouling my yard. There's also a big wad of trash (dunno how it got there) that I can't get rid of either.

Is there some command to make them vanish forever so my backyard doesn't become a dump later on?

Try making sure that there is an outdoors sink and outdoors trash can, not just sinks or trash cans indoors.

Try going into build mode and deleting the rubbish. If the rubbish remains, make a room around the rubbish, then click on the room and delete the room.

There was already a trash can out in the yard and it didn't work then. I then added a sink to the counter I had outside and it was still borked.

Okay the issue is fixed. I quit game and loaded it up again, only to find the same issue. I went to another house to see if I had the same issue, but luckily it was fine. I then went back to the affected house and the issue fixed itself apparently. The Sims can now use the sink and trash can outside the house, thank goodness.

I have ONE more issue though. The trash pile and that lonely dish is actually outside my property, so it's impossible for me to get rid of them as I don't see how I can add a trash can there, as it's not a public venue like a park or a community lot. It's nasty and is right beside my backyard.

I am glad that your first issue has been fixed. That is great!
With the rubbish outside your home, sometimes after a few days the rubbish disappears.

Another option to do, is to use the " set on head" cheat and place a trash can on your sims head. Then have him go to where the rubbish is, and click reset object on the trash can. This should place the trash can near the rubbish and you can then put the rubbish into the trash can. Before doing this though, it would be best to save the game, in case issues arise, or you could do it as soon as you load the game.

I plopped an outdoor trashcan in my yard then used the set as head cheat, walked to where I wanted it and then hit..ummm I think it is reset object and it drops is down where you are.

I hate a dirty neighborhood too..lol

Hmm thanks for the help, you guys. What about that dish though?? I dunno how it managed to get outside my property. Can I put a dish on my head too?

Hello. Try dragging the dish to the trash can.

You may need to wait a few sim days or sometimes it takes a few sims weeks and the rubbish/dishes/plates disappear. I hope that this occurs in your game also. Try to make sure that your sims travel to other neighbourhoods/worlds because that will help with the resettimg of locations.

In my game this bug is related to the new big round table. You cannot start to clean up the dishes while your sim is still seated. Let him stand up and click on the plate again, then it should be possible.

In my game this bug is related to the new big round table. You cannot start to clean up the dishes while your sim is still seated. Let him stand up and click on the plate again, then it should be possible.

Thankyou for posting about the issue with the round table. It is helpful for simmers to be aware that cleaning dishes can only be done when a sim stands and not when sitting,

Thanks, but it didn't work when my Sim was standing up too.

My trashpile and even the lonely dish has disappeared on their own so I'm happy.
