A bug that I though wasn't there anymore

Hello,

Since the last patch, an old bug came back. Do you know if there is anything that I can do, but please, not repairing the game !! It takes ages and it frustrate me so much that we always have to do did when there is a bug !!!



This green bar from when my sim is learning something is always over his head. He is not learning anything anymore, but still have this... always ! I've tried changing family, the same problem happen to everyone. When a sim learn something, it stay over his head after that. I tried saving my save folders, then deleted the Sims 4 folder and put everything back after having launched the game and it still came back. Is there a reason why it's doing that ?

try to save your game, quit and clear out the cache file and load it up again, it might go away that way.

Try having your sim travel to another lot and back again, and see if that helps.

Does the bar still remain, after you come out of the game and then go back in again? Usually once you exit the game, then go back into the game, the bar will have gone.

While you're testing the other solutions which have been offered, keep track of the number of times you've saved since you might have to roll back. That really would be the best solution however testing alternatives won't hurt if you're prepared for recovery.

I've tried clearing the cache and leaving, then coming back. When I came back the green bar wasn't there anymore, but when my sims starts to improve his skills, it stay over his head again.

I am sorry that you are continuing to have this occur in your game. When it happens, try having your sim travel to another lot to see if it removes the bar.

Do you have cc/mods in your game? If you do, move your mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and test to see if the issue is still there.

Try resetting your sims 4 folder and see if that helps. I wasn't sure when you posted in the above post if you only put back the folders/files into the new sims 4 folder or not. Try doing it this way. Move your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated. Exit the game and then copy back the "options.ini" and "ReticulatedSplinesView" files and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " and "mods" folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated files/ folders with the old files/folders from the desktop sims 4 folder.

You may need to repair the game again. I am sorry. I know that you posted that you didn't want to do that. It may help though.

Thank you, I think I'll have to repair the game. I'm really mad, I've done it 3 times since the beginning of the year.

I do not use mod, I've tried going to another lot, but it comes back when my sims starts learning a skill. I've removed the Sims 4 folder, but it also didn't work:(

Bad new, it came back even after I repaired the game

Hello.
I am sorry. You may need to keep having your sims travel to another lot to remove the skill bar. If it still won't move after travelling, try having your sim do the same type of skill that is related to the skill bar and see if that helps.

The bar disappear when I change lot, but when my Sim start learning a skill it comes back. I hope that they will fix it at the next patch. I've tried to continue that skill, but it doesn't remove it. In fact, I can't even know how far my Sim is while learning his skill because the green in the bar doesn't go up even after hours. I have to look into the skill panel to follow the improvement of my sims

I am sorry that you are having this issue.
Try moving your sims to another home/lot. Sell the furniture before they leave. Then test to see if the same issue occurs in that home. Then have them move back to the original home and see if the issues remain.

Try testing to see if the same issue happens in a new game also. If the issue is no longer there, you may want to save your sims and their homes to your library and place them into a new save game.They will lose though any relationships that your sims has with sims not in their household, and will lose their inventory and collections progress. They will retain though their skills, reward traits, aspiration progress and their careers.

Honestly if I have to lose all my collections and relationships, I'll just continue with that bug on my save

My Sim will soon be married so I'll sell everything and buy a new house. I hope it will help, but the problem is happening in all my families.

Okay I'll look into it after work and if after moving my game has the same problem I'll do it.

You're welcome I am sorry that you are having this issue.

Try testing with a new save game, just with random sims, to see if the issue occurs in that game.

that was an issue in my game too. resetting my folders, and rolling back saves fixed it though.

It is good that resetting the folder and rolling back saves helped to fix the issue in your game.
