Putting features of Get Together in their right EPs

«1
From whatever I have seen and read about this EP I feel the features EA listed are not going together. They have no theme here. It feels every feature belongs to a different kind of EP that is why I termed this EP as unfocused.

What do you think would have been the proper EP to bring these features? Share your opinion.

Here is what I think:
1- The Group thing: This feels more like a base game thing, It would have made a difference if it was in base game

2- DJ Skill + Dancing Skill: More suitable in a night life EP. (Are we not getting a Nightlife EP or we will end up with duplicate stuff?)

3- The New World: Not sure yet where it fits, but definitely not in this EP. I feel it can be more like a vacation spot or a different country to visit like how World Adventures introduced some countries.

4- The Closet: Again a night life feature

Is there anything else in the EP? Share your ideas and mention the EP you think that feature goes best with.
Everything I post is an opinion here and I think every post of others is as well.

Why should they keep the same features in the same packs over and over?

THat means the Nightlife pack can focus on different city things. Apartments, restaurants, hotels, other venues etc

I mean apart from apartments, I think late night just came with lounges, bars and clubs. We are getting cafes and pubs with food in this EP, I would love other venues in a late night pack. Cinema, bowling alley, arcade etc

Just because the features are not where you want doesn't mean they are wrong. They do go with the theme of GT imo.

And btw the walkin' closets came with Apartment life not Nightlife.

Just because certain things in Get Together came in different packs in the past doesn't mean they can't be put together in another pack for TS4. It's just as jackjack_k said, now an expansion focused on night life or city living can have new things instead of the same old, same old. Get Together might just be the "night life" pack of TS4 and maybe this time we'll get a city living pack with apartments and all kinds of other city stuff not related to parties and clubbing.

The possibilities are endless and exciting. :)

Keep in mind that from all current information it is NOT a "new world", it's just some new neighborhoods.

To me this pack is just not an expansion. I'm not even annoyed because it's somewhat unfocused, I'm annoyed because there is almost NOTHING in the pack. When they have to list a closet as a core feature you know things are bad. The only real feature in this pack is the grouping mechanic (that's probably going to get really annoying really quick) and they could have literally put that into any other expansion as a side feature or just patched it into the base game for free. This is not a 40 dollar expansion. The other 3-4 tiny things this pack has like the closet, the fooseball table, and the dj and dancing stuff could have easily gone into a much larger feature rich night life type expansion. Get Together is an insult to loyal sim fans.

So for me this isn't about just having features dolled out the way that we have seen them in past iterations, it's about the fact that they are trying to charge people 40 dollars for barely any content. The only thing truly new and different about this pack is how barren it is compared to every other expansion that has ever been released for this series.

They pretty much put a bunch of unrelated stuff together and called it an EP. That's it.

In TS3 apartments came with Nightlife and it was a very bad version of the apartment of TS2. I am sure anyone who loves detailed gameplay would agree that TS3 apartments were awful compared to TS2.

Same thing when other features are added to a different EP. Like Get To Work had only the retail side of OFB and that is so half baked compared to the retail of OFB.

Same thing will happen to all the other stuff with this EP.

I cant imagine the title saying Get Together and sims wont dance together. I mean if they still did not make them dance together it will be a foolish thing.

Except that not everything going together. The theme of this town sounds more calm and peaceful while the EP is more about DJs, Dances and drama! They are not going together. Perhaps a city with apartments would have gone better than this town. Something like Friends sitcom. A big noisy city with tall buildings and many small apartments where friends get together, live together and can be in groups.

I think this town should have been saved for a different themed EP.

Sarduchi refuses to call the Sims 4 worlds "worlds" and prefers to call them neighborhoods. Though I do remember them saying the world of Windenberg.

Get Together focuses on Socialisation, I think these things mingle well with this theme:

The Club System really speaks for itself, Sims can join Clubs which is a Social thing to do, they can also interact with members in their Club and members of other Clubs in different manners. I can't really see this being apart of any other Pack.

DJ-ing and Dancing are usually things people do with other people, making it more of a Social thing, DJs show up at Parties and people Dance at Parties for example. These go well with any Pack that includes Hobbies, Careers or Parties.

The new world offers the chance to meet new Sims, another form of socialisation is interacting with other individuals, including new ones from different places. This goes well with Packs that include Vacations.

The Walk-In Closet is being used for up to multiple Sims to play in and for Sims to try on different clothes and be judged and ridiculed by their best friends, also counts towards socialisation. This goes well with any Pack really, it's a Closet but more interactive after all.
Live your life to the fullest, don't wait for a miracle to happen, be the miracle to make things happen.
Sometimes your creativity is limited where you use it most, but you can use those limitations to inspire new forms of creativity you may never have thought of beforehand.

And which world that we had would not give our sims the chance to meet new sims for socialization? Sorry but what you are saying is a marketing thing only, it is used to sell the product to someone who has no idea what the Sims worlds offer and not offer.

All the worlds have the same thing but different scenery.
What I am saying that Get Together would have been better if it had a city like world where it have apartments and friends can get together & live in these apartments. The EP theme needs a world that has a more noise to it. Something like Friends sitcom.

This world looks more calm and peaceful and would have been better if was presented in some other EP.

Because if stuff is in the right EPs, chances of us getting ripped off are lower. Imagine getting a second night life EP and not even having DJs with this, because they were in some random pack you didn't want to buy.
    That's just not ok imo.

ETA: Some people have to limit themselves to getting only some of the EPs. Ensuring that one topic isn't splattered around several EPs is making this easier and the experience as a whole better. Because you can expect you really get the experience that is advertised. And a "late night" with clubbing needs DJs. Selling this feature twice is also a rip-off btw.

Very well said. Having the right stuff in the right EP is important. I guess those people will also be OK even if 2 seasons were offered in one EP and the other 2 in another EP. That is a clear rip off and watered down attempts.

It's still meeting new Sims in a new World, I don't believe a world should be restricted to a specific Expansion Pack just because it's no what some people think fits.

The culling in the base game deletes sims and generates new ones, so there are always new sims around. I'm not saying restricted but I am saying a themed world that goes better with the EP.

You know this is like Into The Future EP coming only with one medieval world!!

Exactly and the fact is that they are just throwing should-have-been base game and future EP items in one horrible EP just for the fact to come out with an EP! They should have just saved it, and done Generations EP, or put everything together, add apartments and such, and make a NL/LN EP.

I agree with the op. This should have been a more cultural themed European pack and less American focused, it could have even had a wizard lifestate like how Harry Potter lives in England or even more medieval like. It looked like a cute quite town and that's the way it should have stayed.

All my opinion go and disa I mean zagadoo :) , doesn't matter too me I am no hater just an indiffer. :D

I don't get this "right EPs" thing. Why can't add-ons be differently conceived of this time, compared to some other time? If whatever Sims 4 EPs end up being like had been done first, we'd have thought of that as "right" in the same way. And you know, if they just rehashed the same EPs as have been released before, Simmers would complain about that, too.

Personally, I think this EP looks well thought out. It brings a new way for our Sims to interact together, in groups; gives us a new location; and that new location pulls in, in a pretty natural way, the rave-culture thing of DJing in ruins, etc., as well as what kinds of new activities and venues the new group interaction might happen in alongside the old ones.

EDIT: Bring on the zagadoos, obviously. ;)
